do you (or why would you) put out a greatest hits/best of album when you only have 3 albums out ??? (and they are all shit)

ATREYU: 'The Best Of?' Collection Due In January - Dec. 16, 2006

ATREYU's new "best of" collection, aptly titled "The Best Of...", will be released on Janaury 23, 2007 via Victory Records. The track listing is as follows:

01. Lip Gloss And Black
02. Ain't Love Grand
03. Living Each Day Like You're Already Dead
04. A Song For The Optimists
05. Deanne The Arsonist
06. Tulips Are Better
07. Someone's Standing On My Chest
08. Bleeding Mascara
09. Right Side Of The Bed
10. You Eclipsed By Me
11. The Crimson
12. Demonology And Heartache
13. My Sanity On The Funeral Pyre
14. Creature
15. Untitled Finale
16. Ex's And Oh's
17. Shameful
18. The Theft

ATREYU recently parted ways with Victory and inked a new deal with the Hollywood label.

Commented ATREYU frontman Alex Varkatzas: "As a group of friends playing music, our main goal is to grow and spread our brand of metallic rock around the world. We try to progress and grow on each album we record. We feel that Hollywood Records is the perfect place to continue to grow while maintaining our freedom to do whatever the hell we want with our songs. We look forward to our future with Hollywood. They have shown a real interest in us for quite a while. To put it simply, they are down for us and we are down for them."

ATREYU's third album, "A Death-Grip On Yesterday", has sold 222,000 copies since its late March release.

The CD follows up the group's 2002 release, "The Curse".

This is Tony's way of making sure Victory has a new ATREYU title on the same shelf at the same time their first major drops.

He could have done number 3498756455678 reissue.

Yeah, I'm the last person to defend a shit band like that, but I'm sure this is the deal Tony dreamed up to let them out of their contract.

Also doesn't that mean they had a contract requiring one more release?

I have no idea but BD's reason makes total sense. Wouldn't that band get any royalties though?

joemaconmovies - 12-17-2006 at 02:25 PM

do they even have any fucking hits?

BDx13 - 12-18-2006 at 12:33 AM

devil is in the details. all of the questions posed (except joe's - we know THAT answer!) are dependant on what was in their contract.
