I want to collect vinyl again. I wish I had the money. Sorry BD. I'd be all over it if I did.

BDx13 - 1-24-2007 at 11:27 PM

i've gotten a few questions about how much i want for these records. just to be clear, i wasn't sayin' "make me an offer" cause i wanted people to empty their pockets or anything. these are mostly average records that are pretty readily available. some, like mind's eye and trouble is, are interesting because of who's in the band, and the foreign records are cool to check out, but i don't think there's anything here you can flip on ebay and then retire off of. i'd rather 'em go to people I like for a just a few bucks than have to deal with ebay and its fees.

So forget the make an offer thing; does this seem fair?
- 2 for $10
- 4 for $15
- 6 for $20
...including shipping.

Siczine.com - 1-24-2007 at 11:31 PM

I certainly wouldn't mind adding the hatebreed/neglect and turmoil 7"s to my stash.

BDx13 - 1-24-2007 at 11:34 PM

there's a claim in hatebreed/neglect and quicksand already. is there another you're interested in?

tireironsaint - 1-25-2007 at 12:42 AM

So, can I lay claim to Electric Frankenstein, Clash, Big Chief and Humpers or are some of those claimed? And what do you want for postage?

probably over the weekend or early next week. i expect there to be a little more demand for the records in round 2, so those might go straight to ebay.

sorry honus.

JawnDiablo - 1-25-2007 at 11:49 AM

turning point?
4 walls?

BDx13 - 1-25-2007 at 12:04 PM

sorry...turning point, four walls, GB, YOT, etc are all staying.

my plan is to get rid of everything that is not a personal must have. that means records by my favorite bands and records that have sentimental value (which include a lot that i bought as a youngster) are staying. when all is said and done,my collection will consist of a lot of records by very few bands. i think i have 15 TAD 7"s and there's no way i'm parting with them. few are really worth anything, but i love TAD. it's kind of strange to collect something NO ONE else cares about!

anyway, i think i pulled about 60 or 70 7"s total. those included in round 2 all seem to sell consistantly on ebay, some for a decent amount, but i don't think there are many true classics. if youz want, i'll post 'em up here, and serious offers will be considered, but for now, the plan is to put 'em on ebay. lemme know.

Give us first chance big guy.

TAD!
holy crap I remember that band.
I saw them with Clutch at the Middle east on chestnut street in philly back in the 90s.
a skinhead riot broke out and clutch didnt play.
that dude was hilarious. he was mocking the nazis left and right.

Will do.
Mrs. BD is photographing them now, and I'm half way through the descriptions.
Look for 'em tonight or tomorrow.

JawnDiablo - 1-25-2007 at 01:01 PM

I might do something similar when i move in the next few months.
mostly metal stuff.
i might just give it away for shipping money

TAD was an awesome band. And TAD DOYLE is an awesome man. He dropped trow at the Troc once. Wow. And can I just tell you... his previous employment includes both LUMBERJACK anf BUTCHER. Fuck.

The last few releases they had were not only their heaviest, but were generally some of the heaviest songs I've ever heard. If you ever see the Obscene Hand 7" on Am Rep or Oppenheimer's Pretty Nightmare on UP Records, buy 'em. If you don't like 'em, I'll buy 'em off of you.

His post-TAD band, Hog Molly was good, but they didn't do much. Apparently, they're workign on a live TAD video and some other release. Clearly, I am stoked.

BDx13 - 1-25-2007 at 01:15 PM

I was just telling the new owner of the Quicksand 7" as I grabbed his records to set them aside, that the price tag hit me with a vivd memory of when and where i bought that one. Rough Trade Records in London, May 1996. I remember buying that record like it was yesterday. Funny the way that shitworks, innit?

REGARDING DOWN MY THROAT

BDx13 - 1-25-2007 at 01:42 PM

First, thanks for all the interest in this record.

When I awoke to a dozen messages this morning asking about it, it became clear that it was a record of interest in a market I'm not familiar with...namely Finland. It's cool to see that the Finns have such a strong scene. How did so many of you wind up on this board?!

Anyway, I was going to stick to my word and send it to the first person who wrote me - two 7"s delivered for $10 (well, maybe a little more to cover international shipping). I figured, "someone's gonna be stoked to have this record!"

Then I got to this message...
"DMT and one another delivered to Finland for $10?! HAHAHA!!! I want it! You said $10 delivered so you have to send it to Finland for $10! This record is impossible to find!"

What did they used to say in elementary school... "It just takes one person to ruin it for the group."

So to all those genuinely interested in the record, thanks again. I'll be listing it on ebay in the next few days where it can have an honest shot in the open market.

For those not familiar with the band, here's what I found online:

Any of our Finnish members want to tell us more about them? I really like the tracks on their myspace. Any other Scandinavian bands we should be checking out?
