strange thing about BANE

BDx13 - 2-13-2007 at 07:30 PM

if you search the "music, records" section of ebay for "bane", there are 77 results.
number of actual bane records for sale? four.
the remaining 73 results just include the band's name in the title to help attract attention to auctions for other bands.

don't get me wrong, i get it. i do the same thing. throw in a few related bands to help get more results. but when the results are that disproportionate, does it make sense?

HA! even funnier
if you do a google image search for Juan Diablo I don't come up until the 6th page!

BANE = good but not that good.

give blood.

BDx13 - 2-13-2007 at 10:32 PM

some of their early stuff - the songs collected on Holding This Moment - is pretty hyper.
too bad i didn't get into them until about 10 years after their original release.

moron - 2-13-2007 at 10:32 PM

Ive added their name to a bunch of records Ive put up on ebay. Theyre a popular band, and at one time people were really looking for their vinyl. Like me, for example. I have no idea if people are still going crazy over their records on ebay anymore.

I did this many times with MADBALL or INTEGRITY. Those seem to get alot of hits.

^^^^^^^^ thats my thing. I never got into them until like 2002 or so. I got GIVE BLOOD and thats it. Never heard anything else except for the live HELLFEST songs. Good stuff but I guess it was a moment too late for me. I missed the wave but will wait.......

Probably because its such a known name in hardcore and its only 4 letters. Its easy to squeeze into an auction headline. like "sxe", "kbd", or "b9"

I still have 2 'Nothing Personal is better than Bane' pins.

BDx13 - 2-22-2007 at 11:16 AM

I think that Bane is overrated in some ways, but that is a good record. They are really good, dont get me wrong! I just think they are a little inflated.

Side Note: I think that a song called KEY WORDS written by a somewhat big band about smaller bands not using their names to sell their crap would be a good idea.

BDx13 - 2-22-2007 at 11:24 AM

HA! KEY WORDS RULE!

these early songs are killer.
i wasn't into later stuff - the note, give blood.
just not as hyper.
the tracks on this record are HYPER.

I think so...never get into them. I remember when I was at Hellfest 2002 and kids were going bonkers for them I was like ehh. Not a bad band..just never liked em much.

moron - 2-22-2007 at 09:24 PM

Out of curiosity, Duane, how much did you pay for that record? If you dont mind my asking.

BDx13 - 2-22-2007 at 11:59 PM

$20 from a guy who works at evr.
i think it goes for a lot more on ebay.
any idea what the pressing info is on this record?

moron - 2-23-2007 at 12:01 AM

first press limited to 100. you got a deal!

BDx13 - 2-23-2007 at 12:07 AM

did they do other pressings/colors?

moron - 2-23-2007 at 12:51 AM

yeah. Gold, purple and black. The purple is a second press that was made for a west coast tour and is out of 100. Gold is out of 200 and black is 800.

Edge dudes just take all the money they'd spend on booze and drugs and buy mad records and sneakers.
