Thorp and Sailor's Grave Board

Angels & Demons

MyOwnWay - 3-11-2007 at 09:36 PM

I watched the excorcism of emily rose today. It got me thinking so I pose these two questions to you friends of Thorp...

Do you believe in them (angels and demons)?

Why or why not?

JawnDiablo - 3-11-2007 at 10:19 PM

yeah
if they are as follows
the Angels in my life being my son and girlfriend
the demons in my life being the demon alcohol and take out food

yup, I have a strong spiritual belief in things we can't necessarily see or understand, I don't place any of my faith in the word of man or his organized religion though. The main reason I believe is because it seems impossible to scientifically explain everything that occurs around us so there has to be something else in play.

I believe those are names we give to forces we don't understand, so yes I do.

Nope. I don't belive in gods or devils, angels, afterlifes, etc. I don't believe in much of anything.

i'd hate to think that this is all there is in the world and that when its over, its really over. so i dont think about demons and angels but i do think that a life continues after death...at least i hope so..

I don't have imaginary friends.

I believe in the existence of angels and "demons" though I wouldn't give the so-called "demons" more power than to act as tempters to human character flaws. I don't see "demons" or "jinn" as they are called in Islam, as having any power to rival angels or God.

yeah me too
i'm not religious
but try to live my life as a good person and all
there's got to be something better than the last 32 years of breathing

Anyone on here familiar with Enochian "magic"?

BKT - 3-13-2007 at 01:06 PM

The very idea of any supernatural force or anything like that is about as childish as it gets. Hey maybe Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny are real as well.

MM.

No, but I've read a little about Hermeticism and theurgy.

I've got way too many demons : alcoholism/addiction, anger issues, insomnia, jealousy, depression, contempt for humanity, so on and so forth. Unfortunately, I have too few angels, but the ones I have are incredibly precious to me and are occasionally the only reasons I have to continue breathing, so I've been known to thank gods I don't believe in for the existance of those angels.

Hermeticism is a school of philosophy from ancient Egypt started by/based on the teachings of a man named Hermes Trismegistus. Theurgy is a form of magical ritual used by Hermeticists to invoke God or unite with God. It's also sometimes called "white magic."
