Damn, the drums on Roots and Chaos AD are fuckin good.
I haven't listened to these recirds in years
I never gave the band a chance after Max left though

ROOTS and CHAOS rule. However nothing can touch ARISE.

I ahve heard nothing of this band since they departed the singer.

He's not in Sepultura anymore. He quit the band last year.

Anyone have any idea how he gets that noise in the beginning of the song 'chaos ad'?

The toms hit 5times, than that cracking noise... I love it. What the hell is it?

I love all 3 of those albums.
some of the earlier stuff is pretty cool too.

like you guys i never bought any of the stuff without max.
but i actually got in free to see hatebreed open for sepultura with the new singer.
it was terrible, like watchin a sepultura cover band.

anybody else like the soulfly albums? i dig em.

i heard that igor and max just started talkin again recently,
hopefully something will come from this.

I have 'nation' which is pretty good all things considered. And, Roorback which I didnt care for.

JawnDiablo - 3-14-2007 at 01:39 PM

the first soulfly is the shit
primitive was good when i bought it , but now i hate it
the third one was very good
the last one i may have listened to it only a few times.

My favorite Sepultura memory is seeing them on the tour with Pantera and Biohazard. When they did Kaiwas they had drums lining the whole front of the stage and all the guys from all 3 bands were up front drumming along with Igor. It was insanely fucking cool, and sounded amazing.

It is a heart beat in Utero (sp?) I read that in the liner notes.

Yeah, it's Max's son Zion's heartbeat.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Isn't it a gushot sample? Or then it must be some tribal piece of equipment.

That last Soulfly record was straight up old style thrash. It was like turning back the clock to some earlier Sepultura shit. I think it's called "Dark Times" or something like that.
