It's back in stock at CDBaby, I ordered mine today.

I have to wait until next week when I have some cash but I will be getting this. As with the first album, I plan on getting both versions of this one.

ordered !

tireironsaint - 4-2-2007 at 07:44 PM

That was fast as shit! I got mine in the mail today. The packaging is a little disappointing, just a cardboard slipcover (although it is a glossy stock with the artwork and all that), but no liner notes, lyrics, or anything else.

The album itself is fucking amazing though. I'm gonna hafta give it a few more listens to fully digest it, but after one go-round I'm really diggin' it from start to finish.

tireironsaint - 4-2-2007 at 07:49 PM

Oh, before anyone jumps on me about the packaging comment, I realize this is the pre-release version and that there will probably be more included with the "official" version whenever that comes out. I'm sure I'll grab that up when it comes out just like I did with the first record.

Kid Ugly - 4-2-2007 at 08:13 PM

Yeah, I'm on the same page with you as far as the packaging goes. I'm going to assume this from lack of funds. Whatever, I got the CD, that's all that really matters.

Discipline - 4-2-2007 at 08:47 PM

Just ordered mine. Can't wait until it gets here.

Spoiler - 4-2-2007 at 08:55 PM

got mine today...about to give it a listen

tireironsaint - 4-2-2007 at 11:16 PM

I've played it about ten times tonight. This is some really good shit. There's some stuff on there that sounds like they took the ideas behind Old, New, Borrowed & Blue and developed them much more fully. That's not to say it sounds like Sheer Terror (or that I want or expect it to), just that there's a line of progression I'm hearing here. Lots of old Soul/R&B influence filtered through these guys on this one too. Paulie's voice keeps on improving, I'm really diggin' all the crooning he's doing here.

Spoiler - 4-3-2007 at 09:08 PM

track number 6 is worth the price alone...I'm loving this album

JawnDiablo - 4-3-2007 at 10:08 PM

i just paid to download it when it was announced because i was getting antsy.
the good life, and shoot the moon are the standouts for me. Done and Done is great too.
Paulie really shines on the vocals / lyrical arrangements.
Does anyone know who originally recorded Get Yourself Together?
I'm hoping they come through Philly again soon.

tireironsaint - 4-4-2007 at 01:15 AM

I've been wondering about Get Yourself Together too. Mostly wondering if the original is anywhere near as good as this version.

gavin - 4-4-2007 at 09:33 AM

get yourself together is by the small faces and is really good
the small faces are a great band

tireironsaint - 4-5-2007 at 09:45 PM

Thanks Geoff.
I've heard a few Small Faces songs here and there and they've always been great, heard a few bands cover them and always thought that I should check them out but never managed to pick up anything from 'em. I think I need to remedy that situation. Any suggestions on what albums to start with or if there are any to steer clear of?

Discipline - 4-5-2007 at 10:29 PM

Is Small Faces the band Rod Stewart was in?

JawnDiablo - 4-5-2007 at 10:39 PM

well kinda in a weird way
the small faces turned into the faces which had rod stewart singing for them
the faces also rule by the way
you guys should def. check out both bands

gavin - 4-6-2007 at 12:08 PM

im gonna say that besides "love songs........" this is the best thing paul has ever done

JawnDiablo - 4-6-2007 at 12:38 PM

To Paul's benefit, with this release, he will now be able to seperate himself from his attachment to being "that guy from sheer terror". I'm wondering if Ray produced this one as well. It should also appeal to a wider audience than people who were just sheer terror fans seeing what Paul was up to.
