What does your city have?

Six66Mike - 4-16-2007 at 06:36 PM

So what icon/tourist attraction has your city got that is quite unique to the city?

Here in Adelaide we have gigantic silver balls. The balls were removed over the weekend for a polishing & touch-up job but should be back soon. Here's our big balls, post what your city has.

Pretty old image I imagine.

From this Christmas.

lol.

Six66Mike - 4-16-2007 at 10:46 PM

I don't think St Catharines really has anything except maybe the carousel in Port Dalhousie or Port iteself, maybe the lighthouse. All those things are common though, nothing special.

The giant nickel in Sudbury is sweet though.

Here's what we are famous for. Oh, and some little team of Queers call the Baseball Cardinals. I'm so sick and tired of hearing about the Cardinals and we are only about 8 games into the season. The only benefit to them is that they give the town some recognition.

defstarsteve - 4-17-2007 at 10:28 AM

well my little town is utside of pittsburgh which has tons of shit

but what we have is the McDonalds where they first made the big mac

oh and a little film called night of the living dead was filmed here
not only here but the opening cemetary scene was filmed in my wifes grandmothers back yard...
other then that it's complete shit and I am considering moving to NY

Dan - 4-17-2007 at 11:20 AM

Nothing beats our pile of shit...

Voodoobillyman - 4-17-2007 at 11:24 AM

Norfolk VA, home of the US navy Atlantic Fleet, it's a site to behold when they have a good amount of ships in port. Especially when you can catch two or three of the carriers together, pretty cool

His drawing is actually what got him started in the wrestling business. He also illustrated a children's book for Mick Foley. Really nice when I met him a number of years ago.

CR83 - 4-17-2007 at 01:54 PM

The nearest town (town not city) to me has an old mission and a fort where a bunch of soldiers were massacred during the Texas Revolution. In honor of this damn near ever illegal that comes out of Mexico goe s through here. Oh yeah, the 2nd oldest dancehall in Texas is about 5 miles from my house.
