Bands wanted for a LAST RIGHTS tribute record!!

I'm looking for bands interested in contributing songs to a tribute to the Boston hardcore band LAST RIGHTS. They were very short lived, but had a lasting impact on Boston hardcore and their members went on to do many other things most notibly Choke who went on to form Negative FX, Slapshot and Stars & Stripes.

They only recorded six songs and played one single show. The six songs were originally ment to be put out as a 10" by XClaim Records which was run by members of SSD, but this record never came to be and exists only in the form of 2 single sided acetates. Two of the six songs were released on a 7" as Taang! Records # 2 and the other four eventually saw the light of day as bonus tracks on the CD version of the Negative FX self titlted release.

I am looking for SIX bands to record and contribute one song each to this project. Payment will be in the form of copies of the final release which will either be a 7" or a 12" depending on the total length of the recording.

For more information please contact me at Moshua@cox.net

thanks.

Im just looking for bands that want to participate. Im not sure who to target specificly. I did aske Ed about the Welch Boys and he seemed into it and said he would talk to the other guys. Any other suggestions??

Hahahaa.... well the guy in charge of the record will be me, but I wouldnt even have considered doing it if Choke wasnt okay with it. I asked him and he said 'Ok with me'.

aahh, yes, THAT guy in charge!

as far as who to go after, that's totally up to you. what kind of record do you want to make? i like tribute records with bigger name bands who's sound i know. and considering the history of last rights, i wouldn't imagine that would be too hard, esp with boston bands.

but... bigger bands can be hard to nail down or might want more out of the deal, so then you can go with a mix and include some smaller/younger bands.

Its probably going to be mostly smaller bands because I really dont have much money to put into it unfortunantly. Maybe this will be 'Volume I' and if it works out well Ill do another one with bigger bands.

Im hoping the Welch Boys will do it and I have friends in a 'metal' band called Thy Will Be Done that I would love to do it. Jamie Jasta produced their record and its coming out later this year.

Other than those 2 I dont really know. Some Kind of Hate would be awesome, but I think they are broken up. Having Slapshot on it would be the ultimate! :)
