Nope, American is a "processed cheese food", it's not real cheese. I think it was supposed to be similar to cheddar in flavor, but if anything it's an artificial cheddar.

As to the poll, it doesn't matter to me. I do find it odd that cheese flavored things like chips will sometimes come in cheddar and white cheddar varieties since real cheddar is white and the only difference is that most commercially sold cheddar has orange color added to it. At least in the U.S.

i love cheese. workign in a deli gave a chance to try all kinds of stuff.
i think my favorite is still Gjetost, the brown norwegian cheese made from goat's milk and creme. that shit is fuckin' good.

Yellow on my cheesesteaks and occasionally nachos but real shit on all else.

Although recently I had a bowl of whiz and was dipping a cheeseburger in it. I enjoyed it quite a bit and later on brutalized a toilet.
