The CD of Price of Maturity included the Coming of Age EP. This thing looks to be OOP, so you can grab all 22 tracks right here as a .rar archive.

GREAT album.

Great record. Many good Face Values shows back in the day. One of the best was the SHELTER INTO ANOTHER ZERO TOLERANCE and FACE VALUE @ the old EMPIRE in Clevo. The club is now a parking lot for Jacobs Field.

I LOVED Face Value. Anybody into Erba's best band, Gordon Solie Motherfuckers? They just did a show in Austin this past Saturday. A friend of mine was telling me it was complete chaos, I'm so pissed I missed it.

clevohardcore - 5-23-2007 at 09:22 AM

I never heard it. I jsut found out he was in the band AMPS II ELEVEN. They play all the time and I had no idea it was his band.

clevohardcore - 5-23-2007 at 09:26 AM

Last I saw was H 100's and that shit was crazy.

BDx13 - 5-23-2007 at 10:35 AM

No way is GSMF better than Price of Maturity era FV. GSMF is GREAT, but Face Value is so far beyond that its rediculous.

For some reason Face Value did a reunion show in Chicago like 3-4 years back and with Erba's current over the top demeanor it was like seeing GSMF with better songs backing them. Watching Erba flipping off the crucifix on the Knights of Columbus wall then cut his head open and start punching light fixtures to FV was classic.

I saw GSMF play the Chicagofest in the early-ish 90's, good stuff, it was a LARGE room real risty college campus hall, chandaliers, fancy woodwork, etc. The whole room was filled with smoke...fireworks going off everywhere...folding chairs and garbage cans flying in all directions...people headwalking...people hanging from the chandalier. Classic stuff. CPD shut that down with a quickness.

Y'know, as much as I loved and still like FV, I would kill for more GSMF records while I shudder to think what a new FV record would sound like. One of the things I love so much about GSMF is that they pull such a bizarre array of influences from all over the spectrum of things that can and have been called Hard Core together and make them into a cohesive sound that will knock you on your fuckin' ass. Everything from insane Japanese HC, old style NYHC, Midwest old school, classic Thrash like old DRI, even Face Value stuff is in the mix and yet they manage to sound fresh and original. I saw Face Value several times, including once after Erba left the band (not recommended) and as much fun as they were, I would happily slaughter a crowd to see GSMF in action.

^^^^^^^^^ Ya the later FACE VALUE was terrible. I got to check this Erba new stuff out. I wonder if he still lives around Clevo? I haven't seen the listing of shows fro his new band but you guys are all over them.

clevohardcore - 5-24-2007 at 01:50 AM

They sound amazing. I'll have to check out some more of their stuff.

Odd name though. Kind of strange to name your band after one of the best wrestling announcers of all time.

tireironsaint - 5-24-2007 at 06:19 PM

Erba's a HUGE wrestling fan, that's the only explanation I ever got for the name. Their first 7 inch was wrestling themed as well, it was called Chairshot Politics, if I recall correctly (I'm not diggin' it out right now). For those of you talkin' about pickin' up their records, I wish you luck. It was hard enough finding their stuff when it was brand new. I heard a lot of talk about everything coming out on a CD a while back, but I've never seen it if it ever did come out. I just saw the 10 inch on ebay with a starting price somewhere around 20 or 25 bucks.

That's fuckin' hilarious and that is one of the logos they used, just the lettering , I mean, but I've never seen that Uniform Choice rip off before.

Interesting, I assumed the CD was scrapped. Now I wonder if it has anything on it that I don't already have....

clevohardcore - 5-24-2007 at 11:07 PM

T. ERBA is a promoter out this whay and always puts on wrestling shows at the CLEVELAND MASONIC TEMPLE and other surrounding places. It got old when all he did was talk of wrestling. Still does it. I thought he gave up on music but I am jsut finding out he has several other bands. I just lost touch I guess, but whatever. Wrestling sucks.

HE is the only person I have ever seen show up at a show and get on the mic and diss hardcore.

tireironsaint - 5-24-2007 at 11:21 PM

Damn, somebody has the GSMF 7 inch up on ebay and with 2 days left it's already at 27 bucks...

^^^^^^^ I guess. I miss the days when he started getting fat and he would paly without his shirt on. It was awsome because everyone would run from him because they didn't want his fat all over them. It was too fucking funny. He'd stagedive and fall on the floor. He had several good points about HARDCORE not being about how skinny you are or if you are fat or drink. He was ahead of his time I guess.

^^^^^^^ O and yes, this was around 1992.

A good friend of mine posted a short video clip from that GSMF show in Austin last weekend on my myspace page if anybody wants to check it out. I'm too lazy to post it up over here now, but you can all hit my page to view it in my comments. http://www.myspace.com/th_saint
