Thorp and Sailor's Grave Board

I miss 1992

clevohardcore - 5-22-2007 at 11:32 PM

It's weird.

JawnDiablo - 5-23-2007 at 08:03 AM

92 was a good year.
plenty of good music
i graduated high school that year.

RomanticViolence - 5-23-2007 at 08:42 AM

I was 12 that year.

clevohardcore - 5-23-2007 at 09:20 AM

I was 16. I smoked alot of weed. Drank alot of Powermaster, Laser, Mickey's and St. Ides 40's. Made lots of loving with slutty girls, Started driving. Had no debt. Worked at McDonalds and got high on the job plenty of times. Hardcore and Punk wasn't gay yet. Stress wasn't apart of my life yet, but I thought it was. It's nice to think things are, but know deep down inside that it really isn't so bad.

Do you remember ZIMA? Ya it sucked back then too, but the hotties liked it.

BDx13 - 5-23-2007 at 10:17 AM

i was listening to some EDGEWISE yesterday and thinking the exact same thing.

upyerbum - 5-23-2007 at 11:24 AM

I was 20, in the mountains outside Sarajevo.

MyOwnWay - 5-23-2007 at 12:22 PM

Interesting you picked 92. It is the exact year I first got into Hardcore.

MikeCore - 5-23-2007 at 03:36 PM

I was 16 and in High School in NJ. I was still straight edge as fuck and listening to bands that where considered dead even back then like YOT, GB, BOLD, COS. I stopped skate boarding that year. By this time when ever I went to a show, which were few and far between, I would have to sit through some horrible slow metal band that was trying to pass for HC and deal with the mentality of the emerging vegan hard line kids. Needless to say I didn't like 1992 very much.

Kid Ugly - 5-23-2007 at 07:16 PM

Ha, I was 7.

defstarsteve - 5-23-2007 at 08:26 PM

I had graduated in '91 was an army vetern already, and I was doing my best to not do shit but skate, and play guitar...
good year...
I would have gone for 89-90 personally and still been in high school in LA skating and working on my advanced computer sciences courses... the next year we moved to d.c. and it all went to shit

learning dead programming languages in high school, good for nothing now, but I would probably be writting the games you guys like playing rather then pushing ink for a living

Muttley - 5-23-2007 at 11:32 PM

I was 18-19 that year and drinking massive amounts of Crazy Horse, then going to hardcore shows and causing trouble.

^^^^^^^^^^ Insert CRAZYHORSE into my list of 40's from above. I forgot that brand. Clear bottle and it knocks you out.

^^^^^^ I was jamming to INTEGRITY(so amny shows back then), BIOHAZARD, YOT, BOLD, SHLETER, and yes FACE VALUE. EXPLOITED- the massacre was still huge for me then even after being out for a year and a half. MURPHYS LAW- BEST OF TIMES was out and they toured like every 3 months or so into Celvo. Those shows were the best.

^^^^^^^^ I think thats when I got a edgewise cd. Maybe that was 93? It was the one that was and I'm not dissing but I thought sounded like INTEGRITY alot. It was good and I have no idea were it went. I haven't seen the cd in like 10 years. I picked it up at a ENDPOINT and ASHES show.

confused13 - 5-24-2007 at 05:28 AM

I was 15-16 that year and started to smoke and drink booze. went to my first hardcore show (AF). skateboarding was my life. my mom moved to her new friend (my dad died of a heart attack 2 years before). I lived with my older brother in our flat and we had a looot of partys. had a girlfriend and my first sex-experiences.

haha edgewise recorded their demo songs at a studio out back of a garage we drank in when i was 15.
it was PLH studios in Upper Darby PA.
songs were What do I feel and one other. i had that comp tape...i think that was 89 or so...

crazyfists28 - 5-24-2007 at 09:04 AM

it was a tale of two extremes for me. i was in sixth grade and it was probably my favorite year of grammar school but also had the worst event in my life happen as well, the passing of my father. so 92' is an interesting year for me to reflect on ...

BDx13 - 5-24-2007 at 09:48 AM

ugh, loosing your dad in sixth grade. damn, that musta been tough. sorry to hear that, dude.

Oh, that shit is the devil. Last time I drank that poison, I was 18. I actually drank 3 of those in one night. Got into some reggae club, ended up headbutting one of the bouncers and ripping out all the potted plants on the way out. CRAZY HORSE=LIQUID COCAINE. Then again I got arrested about 30 times in a 6 month period around then. Didn't they outlaw that or some Indians threw a shitfit about it? I know they were sued but not sure if the whole operation was shutdown. Then again, it's better that I don't come into contact with the 'Horse again.

JawnDiablo - 5-24-2007 at 03:00 PM

crazy horse is back again.
i drank some not too long ago when the chips were low.

steel reserve is the strongest on the market these days

power master got banned after all these black dudes started shooting each other after drinkin it...

MyOwnWay - 5-24-2007 at 05:08 PM

When I was a teenager I hung out with this indian dude we called crazy horse. It definitely involved said 40, and many interesting evenings with him.

tireironsaint - 5-24-2007 at 06:12 PM

I turned 20 the summer of '92. I worked in a 7-11 and may have been in school at that point, but I can't remember which program I was workin' on if so.

clevohardcore - 5-24-2007 at 11:14 PM

I had the POWERMASTER many times but I was not so mucha fan as I was ST IDES.

Muttley - 5-24-2007 at 11:34 PM

Never had Powermaster but did dip into the 64 from time to time.

Mike All As One can tell you about the aftereffects of Steel Reserve... I brought a case to practice and made a mess. I used to have a Steel Reserve t-shirt... that's gangsta.
