CR83 - 5-23-2007 at 05:48 PM

JawnDiablo - 5-23-2007 at 05:55 PM

Nope, its me too...thats why I ask for 6 songs. Less chance of filler since half of Legacy was.

DaveMoral - 5-23-2007 at 06:38 PM

I like that cover. Probably one of the best covers in a long long time. When's this shit drop?

Discipline - 5-23-2007 at 08:09 PM

August

How can you diss LEGACY? that album was spectacular. I jammed that for over a year straight constantly. I thought it a stellar release.

Dave - 5-24-2007 at 07:01 AM

SwEeT

JawnDiablo - 5-24-2007 at 08:00 AM

the cover is very nice

Jason the Magnificent - 5-24-2007 at 12:10 PM

Legacy is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long. Over half the album is filler tracks. I would challenge any fan of the band play a random song (besides the 5 or 6 standout ones) on that album and be able to tell it from another song. It all bleeds together.

ENDERA.x - 5-24-2007 at 12:16 PM

^^
yeah exactly

it really didn't have that many tracks that stand out on the album like the others.

BDx13 - 5-24-2007 at 01:25 PM

like the cover. kinda blood for blood -ish.
didn't really get into legacy.

Discipline - 5-24-2007 at 03:06 PM

I liked Legacy a lot.

DAK - 5-24-2007 at 04:39 PM

Me too.

MyOwnWay - 5-24-2007 at 05:06 PM

In all sincerity, to those who thought 'legacy' had filler tracks. Please take a moment and give me an example or two. You're entitles to your opinion definitely, but I just dont hear filler on that album. Sure every album has stand out tracks and some not, but to say filler I think is a bit harsh. So I'm interested in what tracks you consider filler.

Discipline - 5-24-2007 at 06:01 PM

The only filler track in my opinion is that 30 second track with Hoya and Mitts singing.

I couldn't if I tried. I'd have to pull the CD out and listen to it and check the track listing just to tell what song is what. I wouldnt have to do that on any other MB release.

I remember the one about more cocaine or whatever being a solid song and a couple others...it was that bland to me...I actually made a mix CDEP with like 6 songs that I liked because I had the CD in my car for a while when it came out and skipped over more tracks than I listened to. I figured at least that way I can play those songs straight through.

tireironsaint - 5-24-2007 at 06:08 PM

I'll say something positive about Madball for once, that cover art looks great. Aside from that, all I can say is that I honestly hope I NEVR hear a note of that album.

Haha, typical. Nothing like consistency though!

^^^^^^^^^ OUCH!

morgan - 5-25-2007 at 12:46 AM

Used to be really into Madball but haven't listened to them in quiet a while. I'll probably check this one out out of pure curiosity.

Me too. I'd mix up the tracks with other tracks from different albums to mix it up a bit. Can't listen to it straight through whereas the others I can.

godabandonedme - 5-25-2007 at 03:14 AM

Set It Off with the baby an gun was the best album cover ever, or was that d.m.s?

Jason the Magnificent - 5-25-2007 at 08:25 AM

That was set it off and THAT was new madballs best album.

MyOwnWay - 5-25-2007 at 08:59 AM

I have never seen a simple picture posted, no words, to start a thread, and have seen it garner this kind of responce.

DAK. Nice work.

My list of Madball albums as listed by favorite. (Because other albums are being mentioned)

1. Hold It Down
2. NYHC ep
3. Demonstrating My Style
4. Set It Off
5. Legacy
6. Look My Way
7. Droppin' Many Suckas
8. Ball Of Destruction

Jason the Magnificent - 5-25-2007 at 01:44 PM

Pretty good list, I'd personally leave off Ball and Droppin as thats the old Madball which is basically Freddy singing AF songs (this is not bad, theyre just two different menatalities of band to me)...but Madball as a seperate band would be

1. Hold It Down
2. Set It Off
3. Demonstrating My Style
4. NYHC ep
5. Legacy
6. Look My Way

Another one that was good was the 7 prior to Hold It Down that had thinkin to myself and fools die on it

edit...'been there done that' 7"

JawnDiablo - 5-25-2007 at 01:53 PM

look my way
nyhc ep
ball of destruction
hold it down
set it off

why not..everyone is doin it haha

DaveMoral - 5-25-2007 at 06:49 PM

Personally I prefer to spin the Best of... disc that way I don't have to pick and choose the most shining tracks from the Roadrunner albums. Haha.

MyOwnWay - 5-29-2007 at 09:34 AM

So I was listening to Legacy this weekend with 'filler' tracks in mind. And I admit, some of the songs sound rushed and not their strongest material for inner album tracks. So I stand by that this is a great album, but I digress and understand how some people precieve some tracks as filler.

stateofdisgrace - 5-29-2007 at 10:37 AM

There are some filler tracks. I still think its a better record than most hardcore bands put out that year, too.

I am partial to "Hold It Down." Great Record.

crazyfists28 - 5-29-2007 at 05:19 PM

even though im not a big fan, i must admit that i remember the time that i purchased d.m.s. only a select few albums fall into that category where i remember actually going to buy it so that must mean something....

DaveMoral - 5-29-2007 at 06:43 PM

I remember where I bought that one and when. Itwas in this place in my little hometown that carried only hardcore records from Victory and what little was on Roadrunner and Century Media. There was good stuff on Vic in those days, that same store was where I got my first Warzone and Cause For Alarm records. And Agnostic Front Liberty and Justice which I had to special order.

Only thing I would change here is putting Set It Off before Hold it down, but this is dead on what you have.

MM.

gavin - 5-30-2007 at 01:59 PM

the only ones i have are ball of destruction and dropin many suckas

DaveMoral - 5-30-2007 at 08:56 PM

And which do you like best? 9 year old Freddy or 19? Haha.

XHonusWagnerX - 6-11-2007 at 10:55 AM

I hope theres a boston trash talking song!

XHonusWagnerX - 6-11-2007 at 10:56 AM

Madball has completed the recording process for their sixth full-length release, titled "Infiltrate The System." The effort was recorded at Planet Z Recording in Massachusetts with producer/engineer Zeuss. Ferret Music will release "Infiltrate The System" in August in North America. The European release will be handled by I Scream Records while Australia will be serviced by Resist Records.
