List from favorite to least favorite Foo Fighter cd's.

I picked up "The colour and the shape" today and this is much better than "one by one". One by One has too many filler songs that are not on par with this bands real abilities to write great songs.

I passed on "nothing left to lose" because I am still unfamiliar with the alot of the bands material. Which one is the one with the mentos video ripoff? I have to get music for the car that my son can listen to. The Accused just is not cutting it. My boy is repeating words now.

I belive the foo fighters album with the mentos commercial is the first album, the S/T. You should check out their latest one, In Your Honor. Its 2 cd's, one is rock the other acoustic. The acoustic cd is really good.

indeed indeed, the acoustic set on disc 2 of In Your Hounor is topclass

I got it today. Ripping it to ipod as I type. I also grabbed there is nothing left to lose. This band is blowing me away. Honest to good rock. Very very PIXIES-ish. Suprising and I noticed last night that GIL NORTON produced the clour and the shape.

we have...
- the color and the shape
- s/t
- in your honor
- one by one
- there is nothing left to lose
...and honestly, i like 'em all. in your honor is probably my least favorite, but i haven't given it much time. the earlier stuff is a little heavier, so i like them. their songs are really catchy. live, they are hyper.

I REALLY wanna see Foo Fighters live.

Muttley - 7-16-2007 at 01:45 AM

I'd go with the same order BD has. TC&TS would definitely be my #1.

I have yet to see them live myself, I'm dying to.

we saw 'em at the continental arena in jersey like two years ago. not my type of venue, but the band really kept a good presence in a space that big. and regardless of what you think of nirvana, dave grohl is pretty fucking metal. you can just tell that shit is in his heart.

I wanted to go to that show so bad but I was on tour in Europe when it happened. That was the tour with Weezer right? God I fuckin hate Weezer.

BDx13 - 7-16-2007 at 10:55 AM

yeah, that's the one. my wife is kinda into weezer, and she thought they were good. i couldn't wait until they were off the stage.

foo fighters were really good. they sounded amazing, had lots of energy, and a great stage presence. lots of metal screaming. plus, Roger Taylor from Queen came on and played two or three songs.

I just don't understand why he wasted his time in that shitty Nirvana band....

Any FF song > Nirvana's whole catalog

DeathByForce - 7-16-2007 at 03:32 PM

I could not agree more!

His drumming was just wasted in that band.

a few things...

I have the first two Foo Fighters records and then stopped buying them. I like The Colour and the Shape, but I never listen to it. I hear random songs of their son Sirius and I like them. In fact... Breakout just came on as Im typing this.

I like Weezer, but only the first two albums. I saw them at Continental Airlines Arena in maybe 2000 or 2001 after they put out the green album. They sucked and I was bummed out. Mrs. Moron had a good time and actually got angry at me because I didnt like them. We got into a fight and it was stupid. Similar thing happened when we saw U2.

I like Nirvana.

Absolutely true. But more importantly his SONGWRITING was completely wasted in that band.

Nirvana = highly overrated whiny heroin rock

clevohardcore - 7-17-2007 at 12:23 AM

Nirvana is not bad.
