when are you gonna rock some 30's on that badass ride of yours

these were on a hummer....10 grand in wheels and tires....dude spared no expense

Spoiler - 7-15-2007 at 10:50 AM

42" flat screen in the back

JawnDiablo - 7-15-2007 at 11:20 AM

shit where does one get tires after the rubber bands wear out?

Discipline - 7-15-2007 at 02:23 PM

I'm amazed at the stupid amounts of money people spend on cars.

BKT - 7-15-2007 at 09:58 PM

hahah ya those are some expensive options. The rim and tire package runs about $25 000 to $30 000. Depending on what rims and rubber you go with. At the end of it all you have a car that just looks more absurd than it does good. Then again what ever floats you're boat I guess.

Why? Its a hobby like anything else. Tattoos, recrod collections and so on are the same, its just another thing to do to make you happy. Or at least it is for me.

Pimpin cars, yeah I get it.... Lo pro tires and rims usually look good. But I think that hummer above looks fuckin stupid with those rims.

BDx13 - 7-15-2007 at 11:24 PM

i like rims. nothing i would spend my money on, but i like the style. that hummer, however, looks like it's on bicycle tires.

JawnDiablo - 7-16-2007 at 12:09 AM

I don't really like Hummers at all....

BDx13 - 7-16-2007 at 10:05 AM

not those hummers, anyway.

Spoiler - 7-16-2007 at 02:09 PM

I work for a wholesale wheel and tire company....you wouldn't believe the price on some of the wheels that we sale. The tires on that Hummer wholesale for $1,800 each, and the wheels wholesale for about $4,000 each.So imagine what the retail price would be.We sale wheels covered with ruby studs and cubic zirconium...shits crazy.

I just don't understand spending thousands and thousands of dollars on rims and tires. I also don't understand the need for tv's, dvd players, video game systems and stuff like that in a car. I can understand wanting to have a nice car with a kickass stereo system, it's the other stuff I just don't get.

JawnDiablo - 7-16-2007 at 02:29 PM

motors, turbos, superchargers, blowers, and custom body work all interest me, but for the life of me i cant see why this gay pimp my ride/fuckmaster flex style of 4 tvs, gucci interior and every other gay assed thing these rap assholes do is so popular.
make it faster, make it handle better, but why do they think the entire neighborhood needs to hear the latest nelly song when they are out for a ride? i love custom wheels, like the kind Foose makes and so on. I even like chromed 20s and whatnot when done tastefully, but sometimes it is just overkill.

BKT - 7-16-2007 at 03:20 PM

The shit is addictive it is hard to stop once you start with a car or truck. You keep getting new ideas on how to tie all the shit together and make it flow.

I have done much to the exterior of my car a well as the engine mods I have added. I have not done one thing to the interior. Dont really need to and the stereo is loud enough for me as is and I dont want to watch TV while I drive.

When I was working for Toronto court services last summer I sat in on a case that blew my mind. An 18 year old kid was doing 180 down the highway. He was steering with his knee and using the rearview mirror to look into a tv he had in the backseat. He couldn't use his hands to steer because they were busy with the XBox controller he was using to play a game on the tv on the back seat. That boy got charged with multiple offences.

JawnDiablo - 7-16-2007 at 03:44 PM

is that 180 kilometers per hour?
that is like 95 mph right?

Discipline - 7-16-2007 at 04:26 PM

Yup.

hmmmm impresive. Not that I buy any of that, but if it did happen in some wild far off universe and he was able to pull it off, I am very impressed. However I can't for the life of me understand why I have not heard his name in F1 or Nasscar as of yet.

It was in front of a justice of the peace at the Provincial Offences Court at old City Hall.

BKT - 7-17-2007 at 10:51 AM

Well if it happened then I guess it happened. None the less, that fool is crazy lucky he did not crash. The real tradgey would have been if he killed someone else while doing what he was doing.

upyerbum - 7-17-2007 at 04:11 PM

I can see an 18 year old kid doing that just to see if he could do it. When your 18 your invincible. Still not a very good idea though.

JawnDiablo - 7-17-2007 at 09:48 PM

Just fer the record, I think MM's 300 is one of the nicest 300s I've seen....

thanks man.

BDx13 - 7-17-2007 at 11:22 PM

agreed. i'd like to see more pics if you've got 'em.

i like subtle mods like rims, slightly lowered, maybe a little debadging.
i hate funny colors and giant fins and loud-ass custom exhausts and shit like that.

take a look at this sonata (the car in the pics is an '07; I have an '06.):
http://www.autoblog.com/2006/11/02/sema-street-concepts-and-...

It's a fucking Hyundai, but I love it. A new grille, tiny spoiler, low-profile tires, conservative rims, mild ground effects and tinted windows turned a very average sedan into a respectable looking ride that I (even if no one else) would be proud of. (Although personally, i don't care for ground effects. If you want car low, make it low. don't make it LOOK low!)

BKT - 7-18-2007 at 11:44 AM

holy shit that car looks amazing.

I am in the process of blacking out all the chrome except for the grill and the rims. Once that is done I will post some more pics for ya BD.

MM.

Discipline - 7-18-2007 at 02:09 PM

Why are you blacking out the chrome?

BDx13 - 7-18-2007 at 02:18 PM

what all are you changing? mirrors, front bumber trim, ...? will you have to replace those things entirely (whole mirror, whole bumper), or can the individual parts of the mirror and bumber be swapped out? or do you have to paint over 'em?

can't wait for the new pics. if i had the cash, i'd make some of those exact changes to my sonata as you saw in the link.

JawnDiablo - 7-18-2007 at 02:21 PM

I like it as it is.
the grill and rims give it the perfect stance.
