Thorp and Sailor's Grave Board

Last Night In Brooklyn.......

stateofdisgrace - 7-17-2007 at 08:38 AM

THERE WAS A DOPE ASS SHOW ON A MONDAY!!!!!!

Have Heart, Sinking Ships, Soul Control......

It was jam packed!!! The bands set it off. Kids sang along and danced hard.....

IT WAS ALL AGES IN A BAR!!!!

Someone explain to me why this is happening, but not all the time???

The guys who put this together did a great job. No fights, no bouncers. Everyone stood inside when the owner got on stage and requested it even though it was hot as hell.

All the bands got love from beginning to end (even the openers from what I hear).

And they are countering Aug 11th's District 9 show in Long Island with this:

VERSE, GOT IT ALONE, I RISE, SOUL CONTROL, AND MORE.

I am in crisis!!!!! ALL AS ONE might also be on that one, too......

Is that unusual? Most shows in Toronto are in bars, and 99% of those shows are all ages.

VERY unusual round these parts.

That sucks. Toronto bars are strict about checking id's at shows, and most give out wrist bands for the drinkers so there is rarely a problem. I still remember a Dayglo Abortions show where they fenced in the undeage kids at the back of the club. It lasted for the opening bands, but when the Dayglo's hit the stage they kicked down the barrier and rushed the stage. It was pretty funny.

Haha... kids corral.

New York is actually pretty easy on it compared to other places. In NJ, CT and PA (and other places I'm sure), the bar areas are blocked off and you can only keep drinks in that area. Sucks when the place is half empty and everyone is in the back bar area with nobody up front.

stateofdisgrace - 7-18-2007 at 08:13 AM

I agree with Muttley. I remember State Of Disgrace playing in Yonkers once. The place was packed with people in the bar in the other room. None of the bands played in front of more than 10 people. But there was at least 100 people there.

I took the mic cord and ran my ass into the other room. I sang on top of a table in the bar area screaming at the "sit there" people. It was hysterical.

I hate 18 and over. I hate 21 and over. Kids dance, kids sing along. Kids buy merch.

During Have Heart the PA went out but the kids sang the entire song out loud.....Amazing!!!

We got double duty August 11th:
