REAL AMERICAN RACISM

So I just left work to get something to eat. On my way back I passed this park we have in downtown Memphis named "Forest Park". It is named after Nathan Bedford Forest, the Confederate general who started the Ku Klux Klan. There's a statue of Nathan Bedford Forest and one of those metal historical signs that has some info about the guy. As I was driving by I saw these two HILLBILLY tourist couples right there with big smiles on their faces and taking pics in front of the statue and taking pics of the sign. It made me laugh pretty hard. I can't believe people are that into that shit. Furthermore I can't believe that a city that is by a big majority black has a park that is a shrine to the founder of the KKK. It's just funny because in NY they try to have funerals for the "N word" but down here our parks basically pay tribute to it. I guess as long as Memphis, TN is on the map racism will be alive and healthy.

Pennsylvania has a large concentration of racist groups.
A friend whom I work on cars with has a garage he rents out in Boyertown, PA. That town is apparently home of the PA KKk or something because I actually saw these hooded homos out on the corner handing out thier pamphlets and I guess trying to reel in some new recruits. It is a real backwards inbred sort of place. Personally, for me at least, all of that stuff really creeps me out. My girlfriend has a friend who is married to a dude who is somehow wrapped up in some odd christian white supremacist wanna be nazi skin head bullshit. If I wasn't familiar with the skinhead dress style and symbols and shit I really wouldn't have ever noticed. He's real timid and paranoid and doesn't come right out and talk about it. It's a weird life to live being constantly focused on racist stuff. I dunno, some people are just defective.....

now...if I would have seen Daniel Carver out there I would have leaped from my car and taken a pic with him. LOVE that dude. I think racism is pretty funny (whether it's Daniel Carver or Dave Chappelle) but shit like Nazi-ism and people that are really into Nathan Bedford Forest Park are pretty ridiculous.

man I have this whole collection of old Daniel Carver clips on my iPod. It brings me and my brother to tears every time we listen to it. To me there is no greater comedy on planet earth.

Kenneth Keith Kallenback trying to blow smoke out of his eyes on the old tv show is the single funniest thing I have ever experienced in my 33 years on this planet. My brother and I still talk about this at least twice a month.

I downloaded all those shows but they were in shitty RealVideo format. I'm trying to find good versions but I may just convert what I have. Classics.

I have all the Channel 9 shows on DVD. I got em off eBay. Selling bootleg shit on eBay is against their rules so the dude sold Howard's autograph with "free" DVD's. You might be able to find the same thing on there.
