We have a huge black population here in Nova Scotia. They have a really interesting history here, especially the maroons (sp?) who were brought over
to build the Citadel. They weren't slaves, they were paid masons. And then there's the black Loyalists, which I don't know a whole heck of a lot
about. There's a Black Cultural Centre here and plenty of black settlements (they might have been free, but they still couldn't live next door),
Oprah actually talked about the black history here and I think she might have even visited, not sure about that. So to answer your question, yes.
