Rate My Short Home Recording

I have been toying with home recording on and off for the last 14yrs and got into digital pc recording about 6yrs ago but got frustrated and bored so I gave up on it for a couple years and about 4 years ago I finally built a pc that could handle recording but never got around to actually recording any thing until about a year ago.

I recorded one song and I thought the song was OK, not great and I wound up messing up during the mix/mastering by using too much compression and the over all sound of the instruments was lacking. I have since ditched that song for new songs that I have written and have finally found a sound that I think works. It's just me doing the guitars/bass and Dale Nixon III (I'm sure some of you will get the joke) doing the drums. This is just a practice song that I threw together to try to get a sound I liked. This is not one of my songs just something short (22sec) that I threw together just for the sake of recording.

I was going to put some vocals to it today but my pc decided she wants to be a bitch today so maybe tomorrow. Maybe one of you would like to sing? For now the project is called IMPACT . Please let me know what you think either good or bad. This sound is gonna be used for a demo only and it may never even see the light of day. I might just wind up doing it for my ears only. We'll see.

Here's the song:

If I could do shit like this at home, I'd never leave the house again.

(About the name though... Shit... That was the name under which the Bridge 9 band Stand & Fight recorded their demo. I think I have a Impact "Orange County Straight Edge" T-shirt somewhere).

Thanks for the kind words :) About the name, it's not set in stone. I have a couple other ideas. As I said in the other post this may never really see the light of day so if I name it the same name as an older band but never put it out then it won't matter. Time will tell.

Hi Mike.

I fucked your shit up.
I was trying to merge your two threads, but wound up losing the poll in the process.

Sorry.
