I go back to work tomorrow. I haven't worked a job since I got hurt at work back in Feb/04. I went to school but that was easy, and nothing like
actually working. I must say, I'm rather nervous. I don't know why, but I'm really, really nervous.BDx13 - 8-21-2007 at 01:59 PM
yo, that's over three years!
so is your back totally better, or better enough?
what were you doing when you got hurt, and what will you be doing starting tomorrow?MyOwnWay - 8-21-2007 at 02:00 PM

My back and neck will never be better. It is slowly getting worse as time goes by. I can't stand in place for more than 5 minutes, and I can't walk
for more than 10 or 15 minutes without being in complete and total agony.
When I got hurt I was driving a delivery truck for Nestle. Tomorrow I'm starting work at a debt collection agency. I needed work, so I grabbed that
until I find something better. At least I'll be sitting all day.DAK - 8-21-2007 at 03:22 PM

Thanks. Hopefully the day goes smooth. Most of the morning will be spent doing paperwork apparently, as I have to geet certified by the government
to do this shit.CR83 - 8-22-2007 at 09:52 AM

I'm not used to sitting in a chair at a desk for 8 1/2 hours. I don't know which hurts more, my back or my butt.BDx13 - 8-22-2007 at 06:33 PM
you made it!
did you tell them about your back problems?
do you qualify for some sort of canadians with disabilities act that allows to to take breaks every hour?DaveMoral - 8-22-2007 at 07:17 PM
Hang in there man. How did you hurt your back anyway? I don't think I ever heard that story..Discipline - 8-22-2007 at 08:30 PM
Duane- I'm covered under workers comp., so if I need to take a break and stretch or anything I'm allowed to. As long as I don't try and take
advantage of such things, it's cool. I was up front about it, so sense in hiding it. Saves explainations down the road.
Dave- I took a dive on some ice while doing a delivery a few years ago. I crashed onto the concrete on my lower back, and my neck smashed down the
edge of a curb. Sucked big time. It's a permanent injury, not going to get better.upyerbum - 8-22-2007 at 08:52 PM
I work at a computer for a large portion of my job, and seriously, take 5 minutes every hour and stand up walk around, not just for your back, but
your eyes too. You can find ergonomic shit on the net, check that out and adjust your workspace accordingly, it will minimize any negative impact on
your back. You also might be able to get comp to buy you one of those fitted chairs. Worth a try.Discipline - 8-22-2007 at 09:13 PM
They bought me a chair for doing homework at home. It's beautiful, cost them about $1200. If I need something reasonable, I belive they'll cover the
cost.clevohardcore - 8-22-2007 at 11:51 PM

yeah, I figured they would, they're usually pretty good about that shit. By some strange coincidence I'm going to see the doc about my back this week.
Not nearly as bad as yours, but enough to be uncomfortable all the time. Airborne!
