that's what i've always loved about reggae, the more you dig the more great stuff you find. i've got a pretty good collection of old ska/rocksteady/reggae vinyl. a ton of great stuff that's never been re-released unfortunately. i used to do a ska/reggae radio show here from 94-2002.

I love the old jamaican ska. Tougher than Tough is a fine album.

can ya reccommend some?
my girl's dad was a reggae singer in that band Philly Gumbo back in the 70s / 80s.
he has a bunch of stuff but i only met dude once.

really depends on what kind of sound you're digging honestly. i know quite a bit about jamaican stuff from roughly 1959-1974 and north american/english/european stuff from the late 70s till a few years ago. i'm really out of touch with whats been going on from the last 4 or 5 years though. there's a hell of a lot of variation contained in a seemingly small genre.
