def-Star is moving

defstarsteve - 9-4-2007 at 01:07 AM

Yes you read that right
It?s time for def-Star Screen printing to move again....
Our offices are leaving the Pittsburgh and heading out to L.A....
Our production facilities however will stay in the Pittsburgh area, and I'll have more details about that in a minute for you.

We will be moving from Sept. 10th till Sept. 18th...

What will this do to my order?
If you try to place an order during this time period I will get to it as soon as I can find a hot spot to answer your emails...
If you have an order already placed, production will still be running at a normal pace, and you order will still ship on time if not early...

Again only the offices are moving, the worker bees are staying with the hive.

But why move this time?
Well my wife and business partner got a bad ass job in L.A. so we couldn't say no....

But what does this mean will happen to your favorite screen printing company?

Not much other than a phone number and address change, for now, but we will be opening a west coast production facility before the end of the year...

So turnaround time should get faster as well as shipping time since production will be split between both coasts...

As for you mid-west customers, all I can say is do yourself a favor and move to a coast to get better service...j/k

The new phone number effective NOW...
724-812-2203, ask for Steve

New address
5612 Rawlings ave.
Woodland Hills CA 91367

other then that have a great day....

clevohardcore - 9-4-2007 at 02:07 AM

please make the PRIDE KILLS baseball shirt again. It was so bad ass and I missed out.

MyOwnWay - 9-4-2007 at 07:25 AM

And the announcement is out!

Again though Steve, congragulations. This is another huge step for you in life personal and business. Westcoast Def-Star Takeover.

XHonusWagnerX - 9-4-2007 at 07:29 AM

Thats a huge move... Hope you and the family have a great move!

defstarsteve - 9-4-2007 at 09:59 AM

thank everybody
the prices are not changing
and yeah it should be fun
I grew up in L.A. and can't wait to get back...

I know a lot of people despise L.A., but I've tried everywhere else, and if I am going to be misserable. I'd rather do it on a good beach....

BDx13 - 9-4-2007 at 10:13 AM

not what i was expecting, but, NICE!
I thought there was some talk about LI a while back? or am i confused.
what is it that your wife does?
do you still have family/friends in the area?
will there be a lot of back and forth for you?

hardtone - 9-4-2007 at 10:21 AM

We have never used Def-Star for printing before; our guy we use now is limited to 13" by 13" screen size. I like the Stout shirts...

Were can I get printing specs as for image printing limitations like screen size and image placement on the shirt itself?

defstarsteve - 9-4-2007 at 10:22 AM

we did talk about LI... but I am sick of seasonal depression

I miss LA and we need to take over the west coast

we still have a good hold on texas and the east coast, but we have like 2 customers from California, 1 from Oregon, maybe 2 from seattle, that's not so good considering those are some pretty damn populated states

my cusotmers there are amazed at our pricing so I know I can go out and work my magic and build

as for my wife
she will be working as the personal assistant to a good friend of her's who has a job I'd rather not discuss in public
but let's just say she is behind the scenes in the industry, (and no not the porn industry).
But my wife would rather help to expand our company, so if she did that for a while we'd have enough extra capitol to expand without incurring any loans or b.s.

I have 1 friend that I am close to left in L.A. but we haven't really hung out in 15 yers so who knows....
but I have noone here either, just my family, and soon my beach, and not so shitty weather...

as for the return to p.a. proabably twice a year if everything goes even close to as planned
we have a good staff here, and they need their jobs as much as I need them...
so somtimes you just gotta say fuck it...

there should be an art link on our site
our normal size screens area is 14x15
our over sized are 17x20, gotta charge a little more for these
as they incurr a bit more work...
and we can print anywhere on a garmet, but we hate to print over seams as they are just messy as fuck...

stout rules and should be huge worldwide...
b-more has a lot of great bands

BDx13 - 9-4-2007 at 10:30 AM

DEF-STAR WORLDWIDE

defstarsteve - 9-4-2007 at 02:22 PM

only if my headquarters can be in japan...
that would rule

DaveMoral - 9-4-2007 at 04:47 PM

I should start a band when I move to OR just so you can have another customer up there. Haha.

defstarsteve - 9-4-2007 at 04:50 PM

you could just make merch for a fake band...
may sure to use blood or kill in the name, and the print has to be off center maybe under the arm
and kids will eat it up

Murk - 9-4-2007 at 07:33 PM

congratulations!

tireironsaint - 9-4-2007 at 11:42 PM

Well, I have made it out to L.A. once since I've lived here and it's not THAT long a drive. Who knows, it could happen. It would be great to see you guys again.
