Thorp and Sailor's Grave Board

HALLOWEEN review (spoilers)

I loved it.

I will place it right under HALLOWEEN 2 in my list of fave movies in the series.

What I liked:
- McDowell was fantastic. Excellent choice for Loomis.
- The young Michael Myers. Ok, the long hair wasn't necessary, but this kid was good. Creepy and believable.
- The first kill: when was the last time you saw a kid kill akid like that in a mainstream horror movie??? SICK!
- Sherri Moon Zombie.....I love her, sorry. Her acting wasnt that bad. And her dance scene was just fantastic. (I'm AWFUL!)
- The cameos: hails to RZ for hooking up so many great character and horror genre actors. He should do this for every movie he does for the rest of his career.
- The use of the old school HALLOWEEN music as well as the new music.
- The nudity = nice! ( I'm still awful!)
- The ending was great and it was an ENDING if you ask me. No sequel needed...please!

What I didn't like:
- The time/era confusion. What year was the beginning? Late 70's?
Early 80's? And why use RUSH's "Tom Sawyer" in the 16 years later part???
- It was a bit long, could have taken about 15 mins out and it would have been perfect.

RZ didn't let me down, 3 for 3 in my book.

M.

PS: My brother has the "workprint" version with a different ending and several different scenes, watching it on Thursday. Cant wait!

Mike, I agree with everything you said about this except placing it below Halloween 2 as I think the original series is a worthless pile of rat shit.

Haven't seen or heard any reviews about the workprint other than just the fact that it's floating around out there.

Workprint update:

- indeed has a totally different ending from the version in theatres, wont say what it is
- indeed has a rape scene in the mental home, done by the guards on a female patient
