Thorp and Sailor's Grave Board

Went to the Cleveland zoo today.

The son enjoyed it. The cheeta looked frightening. Its fucking crazy how close we were to them. It just kept paiseing back and forth. Like it wanted the fuck out. Those things are huge up close. Zoo's are sort of freaking me out anymore. Besides I never wanted to be near a huge fucking Gorilla in the first place. It's cool to look at but you gain much respect for them. I guess thats the real reason we need guns.

respect or fear?

A friend of mine was in Rwanda and he went up to the reserve in the mountains there. They took them out to this clearing to see the gorilla's and the silverback came charging out at them. He said you just crouch and look at the ground. Once the silverback establishes that you aren't a threat he'll pretty much just ignore you. My buddy said he has never been so in awe or terrified in his life.

The zoo bums me out.
I took my son to the Philadelphia Zoo several times.
The animals look half dead and everything is pretty dirty.
I'm not one of them hippy animal liberation people, but i just dont think animals balong in cages.

I can go to the zoo and stare at the big cats for hours, especially the lions. I love lions.

the lions just laid there. They were massive.
