Thorp and Sailor's Grave Board

At what point did any certain band you liked forever destroy there reputation/image in your eyes?

clevohardcore - 10-19-2007 at 05:42 PM

SLAYER- covering BORN TO BE WILD on a sports show.

H2O- the album GO!

INTEGRITY- many times but the
1. INGET 2000 shit really fucking sucked.
2. When Dwid had a "reunion show" in Clevo, but he was the only original member.

I got many more, but I got to get going.

Yup this was the single biggest let down I ever had as far as music went. The day that album came out was the day that thrash died.

i love that album. not their best but i still think it's great.

i don't know if it's happened to me yet, hating a band i liked and having their image destroyed in my eyes. i have to think about that one.

Jason the Magnificent - 10-20-2007 at 08:14 PM

A certain band I released a post-humus CD of, after dealing with their guitar player who gave me an ulcer and convinced me I was right in shutting the label down.

I figured you'd say DRI after they started writing longer songs.:P

newbreedbrian - 10-20-2007 at 09:35 PM

Bad Religion - Recipe for Hate
7 Seconds - Soulforce Revolution/Ourselves ;)
Circle Jerks - Wonderful (not so much...)
Doughboys - whatever album had that stupid "like a shine" song
Misfits - this should be obvious

Jason the Magnificent - 10-20-2007 at 09:36 PM

Nah thats just the natural progression of a band...it's to be expected...a letdown of sorts...but over years and albums the bite is less malicious.

Yeah, I like that one. They destroyed their image when they cut their hair short and put out that album after it. I'll tell you what really really really put the last nail in the coffin for me on them though.... Some Kind of Monster. What a bunch of whiny bitches. Fuck you rich faggots.

Oh, Earth Crisis when they put out Slither. That was the last straw, that album was bullshit to the Nth degree. So long as their reunion shows have no songs from Slither they might be able to redeem themselves for that abortion of a record.

Sepultura after Max left. C'mon.

Indeed. Way to slander the name of Sepultura and ruin Max's legacy of fucking amazing music. It's fitting that the dude went on to do Soulfly and go the direction he was going with Roots, it sucked, became a new band. Funny thing is, Sepultura is currently further away from real Sepultura than they've ever been and Soulfly is closer.

clevohardcore - 10-21-2007 at 10:41 PM

YA the SEPULTRA is a good one. That sucked when they orginally disbanded.

At one time I thought this about SHEER TERROR when they released LOVE SONGS.... seriously I thought that record sucked until I grew up a little. I love it now.
