So I'm in the chow hall and what do I find.....a cooler full of different brands of non-alcoholic brews. I think their hearts in the right place but
it still amounts to a big ol kick in the balls DAK - 11-15-2007 at 03:38 PM

Is Iraq dry? or is just the US military. I can tell you for a fact that there is not a single drop of booze in Saudi Arabia, I checked. Get some of
that tasty Afri-Cola into ya'.Jason the Magnificent - 11-15-2007 at 04:00 PM
Guy that I work with is from Iraq, says they used to drink all the time in bars...this was Saddam era too.Voodoobillyman - 11-15-2007 at 04:14 PM
As far as I know, it's dry now. I may be wrong though. I know it's definitely dry in surrounding Nations, Kuwait, Saudi and Iran. So I am assuming
it's dry here too, but we know what assuming does don't we? Well I know the military is not allowed to drink here regardless.......except near beer

Dinking might be relative with the guy I work with though. The other week he had a shot of jager with us and 3 light beers. He didn't remember driving
home and woke up at 2 am with the TV blaring and all his clothes/shoes on.Voodoobillyman - 11-16-2007 at 02:03 PM

Nothing in our chow halls, but there is some neat stuff out in town, unfortunately, I don't think they will let us ship anything to the US food
related. sorry
