ha!
perhaps he Banged his head.
was he like a dwarf or anything odd?

could also have died from poor blood flow due to complications of wearing skin tight leather pants...it made kerry king lose his mane

upyerbum - 11-26-2007 at 03:43 PM

I think the guitarist from Quiet Riot was in Slade. I might be fucked up though, maybe it was Hanoi Rocks.

defstarsteve - 11-26-2007 at 03:50 PM

the og guitartist was randy rhodes....
but either way
I had that record when I was like 10
it was good back then
but at 10 your ideas about the world are a bit clouded

JawnDiablo - 11-26-2007 at 03:54 PM

upyerbum - 11-26-2007 at 04:27 PM

Under the Blade is all the Twisted Sister you'll ever need.

XHonusWagnerX - 11-26-2007 at 04:47 PM

im obviously in the minority, but i loved quiet riot. i mean they didnt hold up like they did in the 80s, but i got to see them a few times and they rocked.

in grade school they were my favorite band until i discovered the police. i think it was the metal mask that apealed to me.... im a sucker for a cheezy visual!!

slightly related, the twisted sister christmas record is awesome!!!

defstarsteve - 11-26-2007 at 04:51 PM

i loved them back then, but they didn't stand the test of time
and yes the metal mask ruled

10 year olds did not know who slade were at the time

It almost got Tobias Funke!

Discipline - 11-26-2007 at 05:14 PM

I loved Quiet Riot as a kid, but not these days. I always laugh when I remember an interview with the singer I saw a few years back. They were talking about the excessive partying back in the hair metal days, and he admitted the Jack Daniels bottles he would be pounding back on stage were filled with iced tea. Said he needed to keep up the party image.

That's not as uncommon as you might think.

CR83 - 11-26-2007 at 06:20 PM

I remember when Quiet Riot was going up against Def Lepard (sp?) on Friday Night videos in like 83 or 84. His comment was "I'd rather be quiet then def".

ZING!!!!

gavin - 11-26-2007 at 06:28 PM

no one in the mighty SLADE was in quiet riot
thankfully
SLADE rules
quiet riot, whatever
im sorry dude is dead
i dont dislike them to that point, but whatever

At least that means that Slade made some money off of Quiet Riot.

I remember one of the times I saw them (it was after their heyday had come and gone) and as an intro to a song he was talking about a girl walking into a room backstage and saying "there are no chairs for me to sit down" and his response was to wipe his mouth and say let me clear you a place to sit.

upyerbum - 11-26-2007 at 09:14 PM

For some reason I think there is a Slade connection somehow, I mean aside from the obvious. It could just be senility starting to kick in early, or one of those stories you hear somewhere from someone. I never really paid that much attention to Quiet Riot, but I liked Slade, so why would I listen to Quiet Riot. A lot of bands have covered Slade but they're the only ones who built a career around it. Sucks he's dead though, he was young.

MyOwnWay - 11-27-2007 at 05:41 PM

Mamma Weer All Crazee Now was such a great song.

upyerbum - 11-27-2007 at 06:18 PM

Can anyone actually name a Quiet Riot song? I can't.

DAK - 11-27-2007 at 06:31 PM

Metal Health is on my ipod.

No SLADE connection whatsoever besides them covering their songs which QUIET RIOT actually hated. The producer had to really persuade them into doing them. They've talked about it into interviews and on the VH1 Behind The Music special. All I know is ladies at the State Fair wearing tube tops are bummed about this.
