I am Legend - fun fact

XHonusWagnerX - 12-13-2007 at 04:55 PM

i just heard on the radio that all the voices and sounds that the mutants/demons/vampires in I Am Legend are done by none other than Mike Patton. sounds kind of like a Fantomas song!!

White Zombie did a song about the book on their La Sexorcisto album.

PAtton's cool.

clevohardcore - 12-13-2007 at 09:18 PM

how do you get that kind of job? I imagnine him as a person who trips every day and just wigs out, but somehow manages to find jobs by being cool to his drug dealers.

I remember years ago when I worked at the Newbury Comics warehouse I used to see Mike Patton solo records that were ALL Acapella... so aparently he can do some pretty crazy shit with his voice.

Thats a very cool fun fact Honus.

^^^^^^^^^^ I worked with a guy who loved that band WEEN. They suck too, but he also swore that Patton was a genious. I don't get it. Apparently he has a record label that can't release any records. Has many bands that really don't sell even though they are everywhere. Most bands would kill for the distro that he gets. Yet he is everywhere. I just don't get it. Then he pops up again and is a sound effect guy for a major movie. WTF?

Voodoobillyman - 12-14-2007 at 11:35 AM

Patton is ahead of his time. I have seen Faith No More twice, the farfewell tour was AMAZING! Mr Bungle once, I drove to fuckin Jeresy from Maine to see that, and it was worth every second in the car and then I saw Fantomas open for Tool years ago and that too blew my fucking mind! His label is called Ipecac records and it has released some real good stuff, and some not so good stuff, it's the Melvins home of choice these days. He has done such a wide variety of projects almost all of them unable to be classified in any genre. I can't say enough about the guy, and yes Honus, this is indeed a VERY interesting fun fact about the movie. Now I look foward to it even more :)

I know the label name and most of his bands but they I miss the boat on liking them I guess. I know he has rep. Mr Bungle and what not.

Patton is a god, plain and simple
he also did voice work for an xbox game this year called the darkness,
he played the voices of the demons that control the body of ny mobsters seekng revenge on his family...

he pushes music beyond 4/4 and has a lot of fun doing it.
