Thorp and Sailor's Grave Board

Blockbuster total access

I know a few of you have Netflix, which I tried a LONG time ago and was happy with it. I was wondering if anyon has tried blockbusters program. I am seriously thinking of doing it since I live 10 minutes from a blockbuster and like the fact they have plans with in store exchanges. I also read that they give a free rental coupon each month which is good for a video or game rental which works for me since game rentals are fuckin $8.00 at blockbuster.

Just wondering if anyone has / had it and what you think.

I had a friend that worked for Blockbuster so she got a free membership and she liked it. Granted it was free and she was probably a biased opinion, but still... she liked it.

The coupons for game rentals are a bonus, but as far as the instore movie exchanges go... its a nice addition, but Netflix now has movies that you can watch on your computer instantly. The bonus is that you can get 3 movies in the mail and still watch as many as you want online and its all included in the monthly charge.

I don't watch movies on my computer. I HATE doing that. Screen is too small and location is not "comfortable" so that's not a plus for me.

Thats understandable... depending on what your set up is you can line out a computer to a TV though.

Either way because you play a bunch of games the Blockbuster one is probably the way to go so you can get the free game rental coupons.

I have the Blockbuster Total Access and dig it more than Netflix. Netflix was taking way too long on getting movies to me whereas Blockbuster usually has new ones to me within 1-2 days. One thing I noticed though is that I don't think they're doing the monthly coupon thing anymore. I could be wrong but they're not showing up on my account any longer. It's also saying something about a limit on movies I can swap out each month.

and blockbuster just raised their prices.

Spoiler - 1-6-2008 at 09:32 AM

does Blockbuster have as good of selection as Netflix ?

It looks like they have different plan prices and some let you swap out an unlimited ammount at the store per month and some plans only let you swap out 2 per month, 3 per month, 5 per month, etc... Blockbusters prices are the same as netflix but if you want the in store swap out feature, it costs a bit more (which is the feature I am interested in.

Ive found that the BB selection IN stores for anything that isnt a really popular movie or a new release sucks! Im sure the online thing is WAY better, but Ive never used it.

I'm using it mostly for TV series which BB seems to have damn near everything. TV seasons suck to rent. Take LOST season 3 for example. 7 disc set, each disk is rented seperatly except disc 6 and 7 come together (since 7 is just bonus features). so, 6 rentals at $4.59 each = 27.54 I would be better of buying it just about.
