went from the apple store to happy hour. met up with a buddy from dc who was in town to dj. drank lots, then went to lincoln center.
first piece was bach's fifth brandenburg concerto, which was rad because it has a harpsichord solo. second was a new piece by bernard rands that i
did not care for one bit. it sounded like the soundtrack to a cheesy 70's whodunnit starring angela landsbury. so i passed ou... took a nap. after
intermission was a rousing tchaikovsky number that was really quite exciting and sounded perfect. after, they came out for an encore, which i've
never seen happen before.
had some fancy chinese for dinner, then hit the road around midnight. didn't get home till after two. today is a sleepy day.

that would have been sweet to see. What a show.
Each aspect of the soul has it's own part to play, but the ideal is harmonious agreement with reason and control.

i really enjoy classical music, but i don't know anything about it. i mean, i know what i like and what i don't like, but it's nothing i can talk
about in an informed manner - like this style of music or that conductors or some other individual musician. best music i've ever heard live, though.
