Sex Machines is the new band from at least a couple of the Vanilla Muffins guys. It picks up right where VM left off and if you like d them at all,
you'll dig this stuff too. Odd choices of covers on their debut album though....

my cousin moved there about 2 years ago and loves it. He is in a engineering school there. He ski's and does all kinds of shit. His girl is a stuck up
rich bitch. Good for him but bad for the rest of the family. So my impression is not too favorable of the people because of her. My cousin says its
waaaay liberal and alot of fun. They are cool with american people who travel or move there.

if you have the opportunity to live in a (or in your case, another) foreign country...
do it.
If I fail math, there goes my chance at a good job and a happy life full of hard work.

we'll see if the opportunity comes up. things are looking good so far. only drawback is that career options may become mostly limited to europe,
which isn't necessarily a bad thing... but i'm not quite sure how i feel about it. but i'll worry about that a bit more if there's an offer on the
table.

how old are you?
married, kids?
what is the industry?
my two cents...
it's a reasonably rare opportunity and certainly a unique experience.
do it now while you can.
you don't like it , you can always come back.

I jsut talked to my cousin. He told me that language-wise the country is really disected with what is the "standard" version of language, but that
most already speak English so it is easy to get around and live.

clevo - thanks! i've heard most people speak english, but swiss german is the native language... which is a bit hard to learn, since you usually
learn "german" instead of the swiss dialect.
bd - sent a u2u. just trying not to throw too much personal info on the public part of the board.

I agree with this. I don't know what you got going on, or if you went if you'd be forced (by contract) to stay there for a certain amount of time, but
I'd do it if given the opportunity. Ofcourse if you have family that would be going with you it could be tough.
Life is lived for the expirences you have, good or bad, I'm always one to jump as far as I can just to have the memory of doing so, but I am also
foutunate for having only me to worry about, and lots of free range on my career (for the most part atleast).
Perhaps you could go there on a 2 week vacation first, enough time to really get the feel of what your world would be like if you were to move.

Got a bit more information today, which is much sooner than I expected. I'd be there 3-4 years for school, and I have no family ties that make it a
problem. I won't hear back from US schools for another two months, but this seems pretty damn awesome. Also, it looks like the issues about being
tied to Europe afterward aren't quite as true in my case for a few reasons (for one, being American).
To everyone that's posted - thanks for the help, advice, and support!!!

^^^^^^^^^ He said there is many variations of it. Like you go from one part to the other and each area changes within the country, but most can and do
speak English.

if you have the chance to go to switzerland you should do it.
nice country with a beautiful landsape.
life is quite expensive there, but you can earn there very well.
as for the four languages, they speak german, french, italian and switzerdütsch.it depends in what area you are, but everyone understands english,
cause there are so many tourists and as in most european countries they learn it at school.
and switzerland has the best chocolate in the world, if you are a sweetie, you´ll love it.
if you go to an economy school, there are some of the best in the world.
come over here, europe is beautiful.
