Best of '09

I doubt the next couple weeks is going to provide anything jaw dropping...that being said...IMO the best of 2009 was...

1. Steel Nation - Forever Wounded: Perfect album, I'd say front to back this is probably my favorite overall HC album since 100 Demons 'In the Eyes of the Lord'. Every single song is a remorseless pummeling of a bastard mix of Clevo and NY HC somehow sprinkled with mid 90's hard style crossover stuff. Too damn good. In constant rotation.

2. H8INC - A Clockwork Misery: I've had this only about a week but thats all I need to appreciate the epic levels of hatred and agressions this thing lays forth. I love everything this band has done but this album is their high water mark. It's taken the forward progression as a band of their last album and the more primal riffs of their first and created one hell of a monster.

3. Skeletonwitch - Breathing the Fire: Such a great metal album, speed, aggression and songs about scary shit. Almost identical in style to their last album but they seem to have given each song more of a stand out personality than the last album that bled together at points for me.

4. Rot In Hell - Hallways of the Always: This is Holy Terror HC at it's finest...over the past 15 or so years many bands have tried to emulate the Cleveland Holy terror sound of Integrity/Ringworm...no one has really done anything overly interesting that stands on it's own. This is fucking worthy. So hard, so evil...makes your brain drive about 150 miles an hour through the depths of hell.

5. Wisdom in Chains/Clenched Fist: I'd be hard pressed to pick which of these albums I liked more...WIC have put out another album that tops their last with TONS of great songs but I think the length of it is too much at times for my music ADD and the new Clenched Fist is just so damn good, on top of their game, I'd really love to see them finally get their due.

iīm thinking about it for some days now, but i canīt say which ones are the best, but here the ones that were in heavy rotation this year.
hardcore full length:

1. folsom - hammerlane : not as good "neon light nights", but a nearly perfect mix of moshy hardcore and punk rock.

2. vale tudo - sorry means nothing : eurocore from switzerland, my favorite band at the moment

3. hoods - pitbeast : hoods, nothing more to say.

4. still screaming - From The Ashes Of A Dead Time : german band, ex brightside. old school sound with 2 singers, they sound a little bit like the ryker`s

5. Death b4 dishonor - better ways to die : my record of the year! perfect hardcore.

6. converge - axe to fall : crazy music by crazy guys. every song is a beautiful nightmare. hard to describe, love them or hate them.

7. bulldog courage - from heartache to hatred : dirty the way i like it.

8. toxpack - epidemie : german streetcore, always good to sing along

more to come...

That Megadeth isn't too bad...after 4 or 5 songs it gets kind of lame. The new Overkill is actually really good except one song.

Someone needs to add CLUTCH up in this motha. Seriously, probably the most listened to CD release this year by me. Fucking awesome jams and that packaging is cool ta boot.

Hoods- Pit Beast- Punishing

Wisdom in Chain- Everything You Know- Just a solid release to enjoy- Burn It Down totally rules

Hatebreed- For The Lions- You bet your ass I put a Hatebreed in here

Merauder- God Is I- Punishing as well.

This was a solid year of heavy music. Next year my list better have some fuckin' biohazard in it

I've been thinking about this for the past few days and I still gotta organize my thoughts but here are some of the best IMO:

Alice in Chains - Black Gives Way to Blue (definitely my #1)
Megadeth - Endgame (turned me into a fan after all these years)
U2 - No Line on the Horizon (I think this one will age well for them)
Springsteen - Working on a Dream (same with this one)
Wilco - Wilco
Monsters of Folk - s/t
Conor Oberst - Outer South (minus the songs by 'the other guys')
AFI - Crash Love
Death Cab for Cutie - The Open Door EP
Fall Out Boy - Folie a Deux (technically released last December)
Weezer - Raditude
Pearl Jam - Backspacer
Rancid - Let the Dominoes Fall
Taking Back Sunday - New Again
William Elliott Whitmore - Animals in the Dark

Are we doing JUST music?

If so...

Bulldog Courage - From Heartache to Hatred
Mark Lind & the Unloved - Homeward Bound

and that is about it for me... I am a picky bitch.

I will check out a bunch of the stuff listed here by you peeps and may add to the list.

TV wise I was all about Flashforward and "V" and for movies, District 9 and Inglorious Basterds
