Howard Sterns "Last Show"

Last show on 'terestrial radio' today. Im kind of bummed that I didnt go to NYC to see it live, but Im sure there are thousands of people out there and really not all that much to see. Some of the stuff that would have been cool to see or at least get a chance at winning...

- Artie falling down drunk
- Howards mom, dad, sister & daughters
- They're giving away $1000 to 10 differant people
- Official lyric sheets to 'the beetlejuice song'
- Staind is outside playing 'the beetlejuice song' live
- Aparently there are people having sex outside in the crowd
- Scores girls, BunnyRanch girls & Crack Whores
- They're giving away 2000 free Beetlejuice masks
- They're giving away pieces of the studio, like the couch etc.

& the ultimate prize....

- They're giving away Beetlejuices giant front tooth that fell out a few months ago!

Its going to be webcast on YAHOO starting at 9:00am est. and Im sure the whole thing will be on the Howard Station "On Demand".

Sounds like a man following the money. Nothing wrong with that. I listened to him pretty much every day since 1995. Entertaining. I'lll miss the Howard Stern show.

I cant agree with that. If you ever had the chance to hear the show unedited, the way it comes out of the studio you would be able to hear all the insane little things that were getting edited and how those little edits create huge holes in the show.

I think that Howard is a really creative person. Lots of people dont like what he creates, but he just has a creative streak and likes to create things he thinks are funny. Hes not an obscene person and is more than smart enough to know what he can and cant say on the radio yet they started cutting out more and more and more.

I think for any creative person it would get to a point where they would want to just stop creating if 1/2 of what they were putting out was not getting to the audience. I beleive that with the contract expiring today he would have just stayed off the radio and written more books, maybe done a cable TV show or something, but when the Sirius thing came up and he beleived that he could reach at least a few million people and more so that he would have 100% creative control of 3 full radio stations of programing, that it was a dream come true.

He can finally get the comedy he wants to do out to people that want to hear it. I know that the huge paycheck didnt hurt things, and maybe Im a bisased opinion as a really big fan, but I think hes a really humble person and that the money is important, but not as important as doing what he enjoys doing. With that said, Im not implying that I think he would have done it for free, hes not crazy!

Thats just my 2 cents.

I am not saying he's selling out. How can you sell out with the pockets this guy already has. All honestly he's REALLY doing it for the ART. Literally. He is doing this to be really the DJ he has always wanted to be. When I said "FOLLOWING THE MONEY" I did not mean selling out. I ment it is the right time and he did get a nice offer to expand his credentials. I know he did not get the 500 million dollar offer he said he got but we all know he is getting paid dividends. xHonusx I am a fan of his. I'm not calling him out at all.

haha..... I think I came off to strong in my post. I wasnt saying you were calling him out or calling him a sell out, sorry about that. I understand more about what you mean now and I definitly agree more than I thought before.

Ive been listening to the Yahoo thing for about an hour and a half now and his speach was pretty damn impressive.
