I always loved the Circle Jerks!! I was SO psyched when I got to see them back in like 1989!

I'm the opposite. I love AOF, but could never get into the Circle Jerks. I've never been a fan of Keith Morris. He's my least favortie Black Flag vocalist.

you're both crazy :wink1:

I'm equally surprised at both of those statements, considering what i know about you guys. early AOF is fucking stellar, and when i was a little older, i "got" their later stuff now i love it. as for keith morris, i got alotta love for early flag/circle jerks. even his later efforts ala "american heavy metal weekend" at least have some comedic value :tumble:

Keith Morris is the only BlacK Flag vocalist I don't like.

The only bad thing I can say about Keith Morris is that he has not aged well at all. Dreadlocks and combovers don't mix. I'll take Keith over Henry era Black Flag any day of the week and if the choice came down to any Black Flag album against any Circle Jerks album as far as what I'm gonna listen to, I'll go with the Jerks nine times outta ten. Don't get me wrong, I have a lotta love for Black Flag, at least up to a certain era, but I'd say there's so many more great Circle Jerks records than there are Black Flag ones. That's certainly not to say that every Jerks record is great or even good, there's definitely a couple of clunkers in there, but I think their best stuff is head and shoulders above the majority of the Black Flag catalog.

As far as AOF is concerned, I've just never heard anything that held my attention. I've been recommended the band many times and have checked them out repeatedly, but nothing I've heard has been more than mediocre at best. Maybe there's a specific album or song that somebody can recommend that would change my mind, but I haven't heard anything that even rates as memorable from them yet.

that AOF clip isn't the best representation, there's just not alot of stuff on youtube of them. there's two cd's out called complete 1 and 2. 1's got their first single as well as the give thanks LP and some comp tracks. 2's got the in this life album and and the wait ep. check em out even if you only download the 1st one and delete it after one listen. more interesting stuff than alot of the more generic bands around at the time.

Keith Morris is my favorite Black Flag vocalist by far... also as much as I love Henry, hes my least favorite.
