For a STARS & STRIPES 'Shaved for Battle' Test Press LP. I already have one, but its something Im pretty psyched to get a second one of. It only sold for $20.50 too, I was surprised! Its the Taang! repress, not the original Patriot Records test press, but Ive never seen a test of the patriot one. I know it exists/existed, but who knows where they are now!

not really, under $40. i have 5 or 6 TAD test pressings now. then another 40 records of different pressings. excluding the remaining test pressings, there are about 12 other variations (that i know of) that i still need.

the hardest to come by are the versions of the record they did for pushead. there were six variations, three of which were done in pressings of 14, 7 and 7, respectively. on the extremely rare occasion they come up on ebay, they go for $400-$500. i have two of the three more popular versions, which we done in pressings of 160 and 200. never mind the rarity of the record - the recordings are so fucking heavy, it's worth it for that alone.

maybe i'll do a massive TAD 'want' post like your Slapshot posts!

I never realized TAD was that popular. I don't think I've ever actually listened to anything by them.

Its not initials...

Tad was an American rock band from Seattle, Washington. They were one of the first of the many bands which came out of Seattle in the grunge era. Their music had a noticeable 1970s metal influence, rather than the punk which influenced most other grunge bands. Although their commercial success was limited, their music is still highly regarded amongst grunge fans.

Sub Pop were the grunge leaders. I wonder how much they got when they sold the rights of Nirvana.

NICE... how much was that?

I love when the bands make some sort of special cover for test pressings!

nice, honus! what's the deal with that copy of step on it? is it a double for you? how did you not have it already?

i'm pretty pleased with the hope con record. this is the first time i've seen a test press of any of their stuff come up. for now i'll just say it was the most i've ever spent on a record. cool part was that after the auction was over, i realized i knew the guy selling it, so i was no longer sweating someone trying to rip me off.

Haha... as hard as this is to beleive... I didnt have Step On It on black vinyl LP. I had the RED and the GREEN vinyls, but not the black. Its super easy to find, but always goes for more than I wanted to pay. For some reason the auction I won it sold for $9.99 which is less than 1/3 of what it usually sells for! I was the only bidder.

The shitty thing (until it was fixed) is that the auction was for THREE items. I bid on one, but no one else bid at all. So I emailed the guy and said can I buy 2 of them for double my current bid. The guy says yes no problem. I get the package in the mail and its STEP ON IT and SUDDEN DEATH OVERTIME. I email the guy and tell him about the mistake and he says its no mistake. I argue back and forth and he finally realizes that he fucked up the auction by making it 3 pieces and he sends me back $10 and lets me keep the Sudden Death LP. So I paid $10 for Step on It and got Sudden Death for free!

I was looking to get another RED vinyl copy of Step On It because the one I have is sealed, but the last few have sold for $75+... to rich for my blood! ;)

The only items I have been buying lately are REALLY geeky....

They are called LOST (the tv show) Pieceworks cards...

What they are are cards that come 1 per box and have a fabric swatch from a show worn shirt from a specific cast member.

Here is what I have soo far...

For only having 1 of these cards per box, they don't go for TOO much. The ones I bought were between $10 - $20 each.

Thats pretty cool. Its like the sports cards where they put a piece of jersey in the card. Very nice! Are you going to try to make the whole set?
