STREET DOGS sign to new label

HELLCAT RECORDS

Boston's Street Dogs have signed to Hellcat Records. The Mike McColgan lead act will release their fourth album this year on the Epitaph-imprint. Earlier this month the band entered a Los Angeles studio with producer Ted Hutt (Bouncing Souls, Flogging Molly) to record the follow up to 2006's Fading American Dream. McColgan commented:

I feel like this new release will sound like a battle royal wrestling match, with bands like U2, AC/DC, Thin Lizzy, The Ramones, TV On The Radio, Stiff Little Fingers, Bloc Party, Michael Franti and The Clancy Brothers being the contestants/influences... I think fans can expect a release that is powerful, at times mean, and one that shows growth musically as well... We have always said that we work for the freedom to say and play whatever we want, and on this upcoming release that ethos has never been or sounded stronger.

I fucking love the Street Dogs. I don't care who releases their stuff.

I can't wait to hear this new album. I didn't realize it had already been two years since Fading American Dream was released.

Even though this band does have a audience before it even started because of lineage(spelling) In my eyes they seem to have had a rough beginning. Almost like no one believed they could do it, but they have proved them wrong. Does anyone else ge that? I admit I got into them like 3 years ago and they had to grow on me. I didn't like them because I thought BACK TO THE WORLD sucked. However, I have changed my tune after hearing SAVIN HILL and FADING AMERICAN DREAM. Back to the the world is really not bad after I got over my ignorance of good music.

They are playing here in Clevo in may and I will be there.

I had downloaded Savin Hill years ago but it was one of those album I listened to once and then filed it away. Sometime later I was going through my mp3s to get rid of and gave it a listen and it just clicked. Same thing happened to me with Sick of it all. Im not suprised they signed to hellcat since the original DKM was on helllcat and I know Mike and Tim are good friends.
