What? No Thorp Records love?
REV146 Down To Nothing "Unbreakable" Color LP $10.00 / CD $11.00
Down To Nothing started from humble beginnings in 2000. Around that
time, local Richmond VA favorites Count Me Out and Time Flies found
themselves at the tail end of their careers, making Down To Nothing
the perfect fit to fill the void of the two fallen heroes. Like most
young bands, DTN's expectations didn't go much further than a little
touring and releasing a record. After putting out their first
full-length, "Save It For The Birds" in 2003, DTN knew they were
bound for more. In the next two years, DTN released two splits: The
first came out in 2004 and was with Florida's Kids Like Us (Eulogy
Records); the second split was the result of a strong friendship
they forged with the UK's On Thin Ice on their first European tour
in 2005. The two splits along with three unreleased songs were
compiled and released as "Splitting Headache" in 2005. This
compilation showed immense growth and acted as a bridge to their
most recent work, "The Most." After being out of print for over a
year, DTN's "Splitting Headache" and "Save It For The Birds" are
finally available again on one special Revelation release,
"Unbreakable." Revelation Records.
^^^^^^^ Not even a mention of the 2005 release (FROM THORP RECORDS). they mention that it was released, but not from who. They mention other labels
but not this one. That is kind of shitty of them seeing as THORP helped DTN break huge ground with the release.
Each aspect of the soul has it's own part to play, but the ideal is harmonious agreement with reason and control.

i noticed that as well. doesn't really matter, but it is a little weird. we have a very good relationship with rev.
whenever we've signed bands that had releases on other labels, we almost always gave credit to their previous efforts. if it wasn't for the labels
that the bands had worked with previously, we might not have had the opportunity to work with those bands ourselves. for some, like slapshot or sheer
terror, there are just too many to get into. besides, it's not like we needed to clarify who we're talking about.
while i'm on it, i'd like to point out that we continue to do what we can to support bands even after they leave the label as well. granted, that
usually means little more than posting tour dates, but in our minds, even the bands that have moved on still make thorp what it is.
If I fail math, there goes my chance at a good job and a happy life full of hard work.

Is Thorp still releasing anything currently?

both thorp and sgr are back to being part-time labels.
we have two releases on SGR and one, maybe two, for Thorp in the first half of this year.
If I fail math, there goes my chance at a good job and a happy life full of hard work.
