what, if you have a family member that belonged, the process of joining is easier? don't you have to be invited normally? the husband of a woman i volunteer with is a mason, which struck me as crazy when i heard because he's my age and all the other masons i know of are like 70.

so what's the deal for you so far, clevo?

I think you have to be nominated by a current member to be considered for membership. I know a guy who is one and he keeps pretty tight lip about the whole thing…

I used to go to the "birthday dinner" every year with my grandpa. They didn't really want me to go because I have a vagina, but they let me because my granpa paid his dues for many many years (I think it was 58 years) and refused to go unless I could. So ofcourse, I would excuse myself to use the can and look around. They have this room with all these fancy velvet chairs in a circle, and a padded square bench sorta thing in the middle. pretty fucked up. I have his old rules books around here somewhere, and also a couple tie clips, and other crap he had given to him over the years.

Being a Mason is mostly about making connections. It's a lot like the motorcycle clubs, for someone who wants to be a part of something, and can afford there dues, I'm all for it. Friends that you pay for are always more reliable than the free ones.

Funny I have a neighbor who I've lived next door to for years, never talked to him, barely ever saw him but I always noticed the Freemason emblem he had on his car. Lately, he's been more sociable (maybe because my family is the only other white family on the block) and I was having casaul chatter with him the other week and for some reason I asked him about the masons (and actually expected the conversation to go somewhere) and shit and you should've seen the look on his face. It wasn't angry, it wasn't shocked it was this strange stoic look, he just said "Maybe another time...I have somewhere I need to be." I doubt there will be another time.

Long story short, don't ask a Freemason about the club. My friend asked his Grand Father and he got yelled at like crazy.

It's no big deal. Old boys club. Its certainly not what it was meant to be.

Well, its this place where nobody works, and the pigs don\'t give you any shit. Everyone smokes weed and gets drunk all day. Its a place where cunts like me and you can truly take it easy and relax. Know what I mean?

^^^^^^ I meet up on Monday to find out. Honestly I have no idea what is going to happen. All I know is I am supposed to meet up at the lodge. even the guy that got me in won't elaborate what is going on.

What I mean by the family member and you are right I from what I gather is you can only be invited if you inquire about it. Thats what I have found out. They won't advertise or solicit people unless its requested and whatever. However if you have family I guess its almost a guarenty you are in unless your background warrants any negative representations of you.

Again I really still have no idea what is up. I know I am looking forward to what things may be.

I would like to say don't take my word for anything here. I really am in the dark with what is going on.

^^^^^ cool. :yes:

This is the handshake :thumbup::thumbdown::thumbup::spin::thumbup::thumbup:;)

I also want to say I am into this and really can't discuss stuff. I won't do it. NOt to be a dick but because I want to respect this tradition. I will however give any info you may need if you are interested. That is whatever info I can give seeing as I am totally unaware of most stuff being new.
