going to vote

Wish me luck. Anyone want to discuss who they are voting for and why?

If not voting then why not?

Im voting... but Im not sure who Im voting for yet. Part of me wants to vote for Ron Paul because I agree with some of the stuff I have heard him say, but I know thats a wasted vote. I dont really know enough to know who is 'better' between Obama & Hillary. I think that either of them will have a hard time beating McCaine because of their minority status.... there are still alot of ignorant people in the US and I dont know if they will vote for either a woman or a black man.

I don't waste my time pretending that voting makes a difference. The system is broken and has been for decades and is only getting worse. Don't give me the bullshit about "if you don't vote then you have no right to complain" unless you can absolutely prove to me that your vote made a difference.

I agree that the system is broken, although Canada's isn't as bad as the U.S. I feel that I have to vote because it's a way to let my opinion speak. I'll vote even if the person I like is guaranteed to lose.

I've always felt that one of the great aspects of democracy is the right to vote. There was a time when most people felt it was their duty as a citizen to vote and keep the democratic process in line. I realize those days are long past, and I realize the whole democratic process is rotting from the inside out. Corruption lies everywhere, and the almighty doller speaks at every level of elections. I guess voting is one of the only processes left I feel I have to do.

My two cents for what it's worth.

I really don't think any of these motor mouths will ever be able to do anything of impact to change the quality of the lives of any of us.
They may not fuck you like W, but I guarantee you they will fuck you in another way.
I won't condemn someone for voting, but I don't have any faith in any of it.
Shit the only reason I can see that Kerry got so many votes is because he was the alternative to Bush.

The upside of that though is that election had the highest voter turnout since the 1970's. People were pissed off enough at Bush to get up off of their asses and hit the voting booths. The fact that so many cared about voting against Bush is a positive sign. Granted, Kerry wouldn't have been much different than Bush, but that many voters turning out is a good start.

The reason the system for voting is the Electoral College. Isn't a democracy supposed to be "1 person, 1 vote"? Then why do the people that voted for the person that didn't win the overall percentage get fucked and have their vote not count for anything?

There is no reason why it shouldn't be 1 vote 1 person.

Also, on a funny note. I don't know if anyone has ever seen the Comedy Central cartoon "Little Bush" (I have never actually watched an episode, but know it is a cartoon poking out how much of an idiot he is). Well, they have an add for the new season and it goes as such...

Roughly quoted...

"Obama wants change and to be in the whitehouse.... Yeah, thats all we need, some black guy in the whitehouse begging for change."

I nearly pissed myself!

^hahaha. The Imperial March. Stormtrooper armor is in the works for real...

I'll vote for Obama in the PA primaries. I don't think it works much, but I might as well have my say for the first time like... ever.

I hate Hilary. More over, I hate political family dynasties.

Personally my politics lean more toward the right so Obama's out, fucking can't stand Hillary, don't want another hawk in the whitehouse, and and the thought of a fundmamental christian president scares the shit out of me so no Huckabee. Wouldn't mind Ron Paul but there is no way in hell thats going to happen.

If it wasn't painfully clear already, I have no intention of voting.

I'm throwing my vote away, but atleast I don' feel like a dirty dirty whore for it. Socialis workers party in '08. Voting for the "lesser of two evils" or for canidate A even though you don't neccessarily support that canidates views just because its not the other guy with political party B is the must retarded thingI have ever heard people do. My candidate is a convicted felon so he ain't even technically able to hold any office.

Looks like Hillary won 3 out of 4 states yesterday. Im not 100% sure what that means in the grand scheme of things though.

I said it 3 months ago. The ticket winning will read Hillary as President with Obama as Vice President. Just wait.

I don't know. Bill will essentially be the real VP with Barack taking a very back seat. I'm not sure he'd want to jump on the that ticket. If Barack got the nomination Hillary would never lower herself to the VP seat.

A year back or so I tried buying "clintonobama08.com" but someone beat me to it. I figured just incase they did happen to run, that site would have been worth a chunk of change, and if not, I would be out $5.00

Forget it, McCain is going to win. And I'm not joking when I say I've been saying that for the last 4 years. Little theory of mine.
