Brenanke ALMOST admits recession.

I wonder when they will (if ever)actually say this word.

One does not have to admit to a recession for there to be one.

Apparently they do. It can't be declared a recession without the chair admitting one. Seriously.

"An extended decline in general business activity, typically two consecutive quarters of falling real gross national product."

It's a recession, not officially calling it is simply a facade to try and stop further collapse into depression, but everyone with a brain knows its a recession.

A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

In an economics class I had the instructor mentioned the real defininition of recession like six66mike mentioned but he also added that you can and we have had a recession such as the definition in the past before. Except that it was never called a actual recession and we quickly moved out of it. So in fact or in theory it never was a recession since it never had the name or label. However reality dictates that it was. Since no one ever realised or mentioned it while it was happening then no one paniced or reacted. That was why it was so eay to get out of it.
