Covers album
With all the band voting going on, I thought of another one that might be interesting. If you had a band and were going to do an all covers album,
what songs would you pick. Limit of 15 songs. Genre doesn't matter.
Mine:
1. Negative Approach- Tied Down
2. Motorhead- Orgasmatron
3. Sheer Terror- Three Year Bitch
4. Agnostic Front- Public Assistance
5. Discipline- Frontline Skins
6. Easy Action- There Was A Time
7. Dropkick Murphy's- Never Alone
8. Anti-Hero's- Murder One
9. The Business- Product
10. Big John Bates- Poppa Spoonful
11. Social Distortion- Angels Wings
12. Gang Green- Alcohol
13. Dayglo Abortions- Proud To Be Canadian
14. Bruiser's- Gates of Hell
15. Dead Kennedy's- Moral Majority
‘Do you know what a love letter is? It’s a bullet from a fucking gun. Straight through your heart.’

After this you should have a thread taking your song list and who you would want to do the cover versions of each song.

SOIA- YA I would say any song, but this song must be awesome to play live. TAKE THE NIGHT OFF.
PENNYWISE- wouldn't it be nice
TOKEN ENTRY- Anything off JAYBIRD. Definitely the song WINDOWS
BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN- The River
BONJOVI - dead or alive
CIRCLE JERKS- WILD IN THE STREETS
MOTLEY CRUE- girls girls girls. Stripers love that song.
TOM PETTY and the HRTBKRS- Even the losers. I would like ot play it just as they do. Great song.
I would like to cover THE ACCUSED covering GBH with the song SICK BOY. I love GBH but accused rip shit up with that song.
TURNING POINT- Feeding The Fire - great outro
U2- I WILL FOLLOW. I am getting into these guys quite a bit lately and this song in general sounds like it would be fun to play.
UNBROKEN- D4 man I love this record. Its a classic. Some of the best hard/emotional/intense music put to record. Seriously anything off
LIFE.LOVE.REGRET
Each aspect of the soul has it's own part to play, but the ideal is harmonious agreement with reason and control.

I think I'd just pick my favourite tracks off Saturday Morning Cartoons, Too Legit For the Pit & Stormy Remembrance of TV Theme Shows. A few tracks
off those 3 and I'm set with a great comp.
A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s
a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal
favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

It's a cover of Iron Chin, but the lyrics are different.

I'm sure there are exceptions but covers albums are generally weak because they don't have a theme of sorts. But these are songs I'd like to do:
Elivis Costello - What's So Funny About Peace Love and Understanding
The Temptations - Ain't Too Proud to Beg
Springsteen - Growing Up
Sam Cooke - Having a Party
Johnny Cash - Jackson
The Rolling Stones - Before They Make Me Run

I've often thought about this.
Some of my favorite songs are ones redone by different artists.
I thought Joe Coffee's version of Jump In The River was pretty awesome.
heres some I'd do, just a tad heavier.....
Stones: Paint It Black
Misfits:Hybrid Moments
Smiths: How Soon Is Now
The Stooges: I wanna be your dog
Motorhead: Jailbait
i know i will think of more later....

Rolling Stones - Heart of Stone, we might actually do this one sometime soon. I'd love to rip this song up.
