Hey All
Well, I am back from leave, it was nice to get back to VA for two weeks, just long enough to start to settle and then wham!!!!! right back in the
fuckin suck. I am now back in Iraq, and going through the motions as I now officially have short timers syndrome. This is the time to be worried about
life and limb because I am close to getting the fuck out of here and that is usually when the divine plan tosses an IED or small arms fire your way to
"shake things up". Knock on wood, things are quiet and I hope they stay that way for good, not just long enough for me to get out but for good. These
kids need a fuckin break from shithole muslim extremists doing everything they can to fuck things up. I have many opinions and stories to tell that I
will more than happily share once i am back home for good. Speaking of that, I wanted to thank all of you who sent me a bit of home and let me know
you were thinking of me, I can't begin to describe how that made me feel, it means the world and I will never forget it. You guys are the greatest and
I would love to actually meet some of you along lifes highway face to face to have a beer, or coke in some cases You are good friends, and it speaks volumes about human beings and the way they can be as opposed to the way they
usually are. there is some good in us after all. Thanks again to all of you. I am gearing up to leave in a bit and I would ask that you guys save your
time and money unless you want to send general care packages to the unit I serve with. If so, don't address it to me specifically but just the G9. It
will get to the people I work with, a great group who are holding it down. Thanks again and now that I am back I can post again. I like playing catch
up sometimes.
Bob

that's great, i didn't know you were on leave.
how long had it been since you had seen the family?
as great as it was to see them, i'm sure it's tough to 'pop in' on what their life is like for your family without you.
don't let your pending departure get to your head, buddy.
nows not the time to be sleepin - keep your fuckin eye open and take care!
If I fail math, there goes my chance at a good job and a happy life full of hard work.

Good to hear from you Bob. Stay alert, stay alive. Come home safe. I don't know what sort of brief they give you on return, but speaking from
experience, ease back into things, man. If you want to shoot the shit anytime, hit me up, I went through several deployments in the 90's and coming
home can be the hardest adjustment to make. My advice to you (as hard as it sounds) is to put coming home right out of your mind, then one day your
hopping on the flight.
Well, its this place where nobody works, and the pigs don\'t give you any shit. Everyone smokes weed and gets drunk all day. Its a place where
cunts like me and you can truly take it easy and relax. Know what I mean?

Get home safe bro.

It had been just over 7 months. Long time and we loved our time together, yes it was very hard to leave and my little girls tears damn near tore my
heart right out. You gotta love the resiliency of kids though, she was right as rain the next day. I am not getting slack for sure, and going home is
definitely on the back burner as I have a job to finish here. thanks for the words Big D.

Thanks for the open invite bro and the words of experience. I have been deployed before, just not quite this long and never directly into a warzone.
It definitely makes things different but I have a good plan on easing back into home life and such, I won't try to make any changes for at least two
months. They do provide plenty of briefs from people who really want to help make the whole thing as smooth as possible. I am sure it will be fine.
Thanks again for the kind words bro, it means alot.

Josh, my main man from Providence You can send it if you want, I still have a
bit to go and it should make it to me. If it does not, they can always return to sender. Thanks again for everything and yeah the address is still the
same. How have you been lately?
