For Hellboy part II? I can't wait to see this movie, it is my #1 to see this summer. I hope they do more with the animated tales too, the fact that the movie cast does the voices for the characters in the animated films makes them all the much better. Hellboy is one of the coolest comic book creations to ever be conceived.

2 of my uncles are all about it, but I have no idea what it is.

I'm stoked to see it. Actually, I'm all about the comic based movies this year. Iron Man was fantastic, the new Batman looks great, and I'm very interested in seeing The Hulk too.

Not that there won't be alot of special effects, but this one is supposed to be way more story driven and Mike Mignola has a way more active role in the overall production of this film. I think it will be way better than the first one.

It's based on a comic book (one of the greatest ever conceived) by Mike Mignola. It is basically about a devil like character (Hellboy) who is summoned to earth by occultist Nazis from a Lovecraftian other dimension full of the "old gods". This devil man is secured by the US Army and becomes the centerpiece of a secret agency called the BPRD (Bereua for praanormal research and defense). His right hand is the key to armegeddon called the right hand of doom and otherworldy forces are always at him to use it. The creator Mike Mignola has done his homework on legends, myths, occult etc..... and wraps his stories plots around these various concepts. Very cool horror action type book with alot of intelligence driving it. The first movie is loosely based on the origins of Hellboy. It's well done for a cinematic adeptation. The comic geeks on here I am sure agree when I say one of the greatest comics of all time followed by a well done and much deserved franchise.

If you haven't seen it, I recommend it. I'm not much of a comic guy but the film is a damn good time.

Plus Ron Perlman plays Hellboy and thanks to his acting chops and gigantic goddamn head, he does it perfectly.

Ron Perlman is awesome! Check out "City of lost childeren" with him in it. It is a french film and it is excelent. A verry fucked up movie. I watched it numerous times with and without dubbing and this is the only time I have ever said this and thought other people were crazy when they say this but it is better to watch subbed than dubbed.
