I would appreciate if you watch this...
http://youtube.com/watch?v=Om6WzI0fF-o
The audio in the beginging is actually the radio dispatcher giving out the job and 24A (24th District Sgt.) answering, after you hear "24A I'm going
up" and the dispatcher say "24A I got you doin it" that is where the tape stopped the day of his funeral. When 24 Command asks for a time check etc.
that means he is asking for the date and time the sgt was last heard from. This is what they played over the air the day of his funeral to retire his
badge. The audio you hear is actually what happened that day, they won't release publicly the rest of it but I have heard it.
It's our "custom" that they play the last heard transcript of the officer then at the funeral they attempt to "raise" the officer 3 times (try to get
ahold of him) and after he doesn't answer the 3rd time they retire his name/badge/call sign

Wish I could listen to it bro. Really do. We just held our memorial here for the Soldiers lost since 4th ID took over Baghdad. 75, that's the number
since November in Baghdad. 500 wounded. They read each individual name, had a 21 volley salute and played taps. A somber day for us. Sorry for your
loss bro.

i watched it man. even the boy ii men part. it was hard to watch, especially because i didn't know the person and i never know what to say and to be
honest, it's scary cause it makes all that shit you watch on tv real, cop dramas and even news reports. i dunno, it makes it more real then watching
it else where. all i can say is i'm sorry man. i truly am. my best wishes go out to his friends, family, and anyone else close to him.

That makes me sad. every time this incident comes up i get pissed off.
Funerals suck bad enough, but a police officer's funeral, especially one that was murdered have to be really rough.

To Voodoo: Couldn't imagine being in the military, this shit sucks. 3 in 2 years. Skerski was shot my first night back after my shooting, shitty
night. Saw Cassidy get it on the news an went to work. In just my first 2 years on the job, 3 guys where shot (and lived) in my district alone. My
friend(s) Bob had 2 months on the job an got it in the arm an out his collarbone by a guy with 3 guns. Chris was shot by a guy in handcuffs (2 guns)
and my good frined mike was shot right around thanksgiving point blank in the face, luckily the bullet went in his cheek an back to his spine an he
lived. The last 3 guys didn't have a chance. Sorry just venting. Thanks though.

We just had a suicide bombing by motorbike today. I don't think any of ours were hit, but civilians definitely caught it. It's hard man, it's hard.

Honestly, seeing you post makes me feel a little better cause I sit back an think how trivial (nothing against ANY cop that gets killed) most peoples
lives are compared to you guys an how hard we really don't have it. For whatever reason last night I got real drunk an was thinking about all this
stuff an found that clip. I was working the day of the funeral an had to pull over when they played this over the radio. I don't know any of you
personally so it might sound weird but it's nice to come on here an read that people might actually give a shit. BD once posted a thread
"Godabandonedme is a goddamned hero" that I asked him to take down for personal reasons cause I was having a very toughtime with what happened, but
thinking back it makes me smile thinking there are people out there who have decent hearts an can be nice even if you don't give anything to them.
You guys rule.

that's rough man. you are a fucking hero and don't forget it. dealing with the worst scumbags humanity has to offer every day is a thankless job i'm
sure
