Sex Pistols detail live DVD, plan tour

sorry, geoff, no local US dates...

Sex Pistols have revealed the details about their live DVD announced back in April. As originally reported, the project reunites the band with director Julien Temple, who filmed the band in 1976.

The disc features the original lineup of Johnny Rotten, Steve Jones, Paul Cook and Glen Matlock performing at November 2007 reunion shows at London's Brixton Academy. he new title captures the band during its five-night (Nov. 8-10/12/14) run at the 4,920-capacity venue, marking the 30th anniversary of its debut album Never Mind the Bollocks. The set features sixteen tracks selected from the multiple-nights and 100 minutes of extra features.

The band has also confirmed a world tour which will see the punk pioneers visiting Russia, Japan, Europe, Ireland and Las Vegas.

There'll Always Be an England is due out June 30, 2008.

here's how i saw it
the dropkicks were great
always are
BUT........
they were so "polished"
almost like going through the motions
there seemed to be very little feeling in them
i got this impression all the times ive seen them but esp. this time
again, i love them
one of my all time fav. bands
but they are a touring band and i imkagine it starts to become routine after a while
i honestly thought they were gonna blow the pistols away before the show
then the pistols came on
and after all these years and after all this time they were as punk rick as a band can be
on this tour, there was no practice time
cook had problems getting into the country and got in the day of the first show of this tour
the show i saw them at was the 4th i think

they came on and played their fuckin asses off
they made 2 mistakes that i can remember
but they were all so into it and into playing and into the crowd that it made up for any mistakes they made

the dropkicks, while one of the greatest bands to come out in the past 20 years, didnt and can never touch the pistols
thats just the way it is i guess
no knock on dkm.

you come at the king....you best not miss

i disagree and see things differently but then i've been onstage while dkm has played a few times and i think that gives you a different perspective.

I'd love to see the Pistols.
I hope they come within driving distance of Philly.
