New Indiana Jones movie
I haven't seen it. I knew it came out, but I didn't even see commercials until tonight when I was watching some episodes of The Office on nbc.com.
Even the fucking commercials don't make me want to see that movie. Can it really be so bad that they can't find 20 seconds worth of good footage?

I've seen it twice. You should see it if you're a fan of the previous movies. It doesn't rape the legacy of the old films but it isn't the magic it
could/should have been.

Goin to the movies next weekend, options are 21, Iron Man & Indiana Jones. Currently leaning towards 21 but haven't decided.
A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s
a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal
favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

Saw it Monday. It was all I was expecting, a good time at the movies! It's by no means perfect, but neither are the originals. The CGI stuff was a
little weird and, well... when you see it you'll know what I'm talking about. Some things seem almost un-Indy.
It's better than the Star Wars prequels... and those are all a great time at the movies too.
I'll tell you what I really liked about Indy... it just is an entirely different asthetic from the other action flicks coming out these days. It's
about fun and adventure, not trying to have pretentions about depth. There's something old timey, but fresh at the same time about that. Like classic
swashbuckling.

Yeah. I'm still really fond of Temple of Doom. Last Crusade is probably my least favorite of all those.

Some of you guys really liked this. Maybe Lucas just got lazy as shit with the commercials and assumed he'd draw crowds on the name alone. But, man,
those commercials don't make it look good at all. Might still check it out at some point, but I'm in no major rush.

It's worth seeing, but I wouldn't pay to see it again. They could have used a major rewrite and a big editing job to make it MUCH better, but it's by
no means a raping of the old franchise like the new Star Wars movies were. The way I've described it to people around here is that it's a good deal
sillier than the old ones, but still feels like an Indiana Jones movie. It's very fun, but a few scenes tried to hard and should have been left on the
cutting room floor.
I agree with what DaveMoral said about the aesthetic of it. Generally I find action movies hard to stomach because they're so moronic with the over
the top macho bullshit or the self parody style patriotism, but Indy has always felt more old school and I guess more in line with Adventure than
Action.

^Yeah. Indiana Jones and Star Wars are both swashbuckling flicks more than they are "action" films.
I disagree about Star Wars I-III raping the original trilogy... I think the stilted acting is just more obvious now that the background is more
cartoony than it was before. In the OT you got backdrops that were Ralph MacQuarrie paintings on glass. Nowadays you get CGI matte backdrops and it's
often painfully obvious. Overall, I like them, but they'll never have the same place in my cinematic heart that the OT does.

When Phantom Menace came out I saw it at midnight the day it came out and LOVED it... Then I saw it again the next day and walked out going.... "what
the fuck was that fiasco!?"
"Attack of the Clones" I saw a couple of times and with the exception of the part where Anakin and Padme were on that grassy planet with those brown
cow looking creatues, I liked it.
I think that "Revenge of the Sith" is really good overall. I didnt love the effect of Anakin after he fell in the lava, but it wasnt bad. The only
thing I disliked was after the droids "built" Vader when he got off the board/bed it looked like a bad scene from a 1930's Frankenstein movie. It also
looked like Vader was much to short.
Since I saw them in the theater I've seen them all again on TV and I enjoy them, but there is still A LOT in "Phantom Menace" that I think is bad. To
many corny jokes and what not.

Oh yeah... and as far as Indy goes... I havent seen "Crystal Skulls" yet but I like them in this order....
1. Last Crusade
2. Raides of the Lost Ark
3. Temple of Doom
They are all good, I just that there is some corny stuff in "Temple of Doom" that turns me off compared to the other 2.

I saw it at midnight the night it came out.
I liked it, nothing special, not that I was dying to see it to begin with, really not my cup of tea, but it was still A-OK.
