i know a edge girl that just turned 21, has complete sleeves (that are actually very nice), and just got 'GOOD TIME' on her knuckles. When she showed me I laughed.

Then again, I dated someone that used to (covered now) have SKIN FUCK.

bad knuckle tattoos crack me up.

I know a guy with a camo Xs on his hands. He's got "high five" on his knuckles, and for some reason got a Chinese take out box and the words "dim sum for life" around it...

you should be able to get some ideas here: http://www.straightedgeink.com

my only suggestion is that if you use something standard or cliche, find a way to work it into something different... instead of a normal X, do the crossed hockey sticks... just something a little different. or work the straight edge idea into a bigger tattoo.

here's one that's a nice tattoo, but not necessarily a great sXe one in my opinion... but it's definitely not the norm.

Please read and, if you can, help out a friend: http://www.gofundme.com/jacobmedical.

hahah... thats funny! That is in fact my tattoo... I like to refer to it as "The Crimson Goalie - Back on the Calf" :wink1:

I actually kind of designed/drew it. I put the crossed sticks behind it, but the bones in the original design are not symmetrical so I had to redraw and position them so that they lined up with the crossed sticks.

He should get into another band, but I don't see that happening. He's an amazing musician and also could be one of the most intelligent people I've ever met.

I really like the crimson goalie tattoo, I think the color looks way better in person.

I'd say about 70% of people I know with edge tattoos have broken it.
There was this whole crew of Edge kids back 7-8 years ago that all went to my high school (freshmen whan I was a senior), all were just graduating, and most got a tattoo to show how 'true' they were, I love going to the bars with them now.

What she says is so true though.

Honus has been edge for so long I don't think a tattoo will be the death knell of his edge-ness, though.

Most kids get tattooed with straight edge themes before they hit 21 and then break before they hit 21. There needs to be some kinda straight edge rule that says you can't get tattooed unless you've been straight edge for like 15 years and you're all old.

Oh, and I wasn't at all saying Honus would brake edge. I don't see him being clean JUST to call himself 'edge', I think he does it because he truly beleives in the lifestyle. He dosn't try, he just is.

Yeah, I wasn't suggesting you questioned Josh's edge. I'm just saying... sadly, the tattoo thing is too too true.

I have plenty of tattoos I wouldn't get now if given a clean slate, but they are things I wanted as a younger me, therefore, won't regret. I'm a different person than I was 10 years ago, but that younger me is why I'm the present me. My tattoos show where I was, I never know where I'm going.

Sorry Joe, I missed this question before...

To be totally honest I never had any interested in drinking or drugs at all. Cigarette smoking I dont understand AT ALL. I mean I get that it becomes an addition, I just dont understand why people start!? Its expensive, it smells bad, you have to go outside to do it (most places), and its not like a drug or alcohol induced high (or so I've been told).

I had friends that did acid when I was in jr. high. They were older than me, but they were my 'metal head' friends and they used to trip and play lots of D&D. I always looked at it as being something that was illegal and I did want to break the law. So that in addition to not having an interest is why I never started.

Then I got into hardcore and heard about sXe. I saw the Gorilla Biscuits and thought that Straight Edge was cool, but felt left out becuase the 'youth crew' guys were all skinny bleach blonde body builder vegans with flat tops. I was kinda fat, hated vegitables and had hair 1/2 way down my back.

It wasnt until that magic day that I found out about Slapshot that it all fell into place! :tumble: They were a hardcore band, they were Straight Edge, they had a Tshirt that preaced the virtues of 'red meat' and there was 1 or 2 guys in the band with long hair! PLUS.... How can any young teenager not be drawn to a hockey mask??

yeah.... so thats how it happened. I had some Straight Edge friends in highschool and all but one of them is no longer Edge. I had a few friends that were not 'Straight Edge' but just didnt drink, smoke etc. One of them started drinking, but is now a mormon (due to conversion for a marriage) so I guess he cant drink anymore and the other friend to the best of my knowledge still doesnt drink or anything.

________________________________________________

I remember all those bands
Preaching with motherfucking
X's on their hands
The Youth Of Yesterday, what else can I say
The times have changed and
they've faded away

The times have changed and
the trends move on
The spirit of youth I still carry on
Close minded attitudes, you
know the youth crew
Alienating everyone who didn't think like
who didn't
Act like
Who didn't
Look like you

Here today
And gone tomorrow
Memories Of Yesterday
Leave me in sorrow
Here today
And gone tomorrow
Sincerity? It was only borrowed

Hey but where are they now?
Cause I'm still here and
I'm drug free and fucking
sincere
Hey but that's okay cause
they're out of the scene
They're denying hardcore while
they chase the green

You know who you are you insincere,
straight edge last year,
drinkin' a beer,
have no friends,
no heart or soul,
playing the roll,
full of shit.
Before you go waving flags
you better know what you
stand for

She rolls her eyes and lights another.
"One day I'll quit these things they're killing me"
She blows her brains right out her fucking mouth
"I just don't know how you do it"
Well, there is nothing in me
that you don't have deep within your fucking self.
Yes, the body is week but the mind is strong
and it controls the body,
you are not a slave, and I am not a superhero.
The difference between hard
and impossible is a thousand miles wide,
but that's not what you want to hear.
So you live a lifetime of regret
instead of moments of uncomfort
never knowing how great it feels to be free.
