Took me a loong time to even listen to qotsa. I was blown away when I finally checked them out. does anyone know where I can get the two remixed tracks from the Era Vulgaris limited edition? I'm Designer(unkle remix) and Era vulgaris(richard pile remix)?

Joe, settle the fuck down. I'd probably be ready to go off on you right now, but it's already been pointed out already.
I will say this though, on more than one occasion I have reached out to you in friendship when you talked about serious issues and yet time and time again you pull shit like this, frequently aimed at me, it seems. I'm really not sure why my opinion is so much more offensive to you than everybody else's to the point that you need to go off like that over it, but maybe treating people like that contributes to your depression. Not trying to be a dick, but I know that if I'm pissed off about something or going through tough times it always makes things worse for me when I act like an asshole to people who don't deserve it. There's no point to it, and it sure as fuck won't make you feel better or make me change my opinions.

There's a ton of bands mentioned I enjoy posted so far. Here's my list:

54-40
David Wilcox
Tears For Fears
Headstones
George Thorogood
Bon Jovi
Backhand
Pitboss 2000
Deviate
Dark Funeral
By The Grace of God
Cursed
Cancer Bats
Thumb
OS101

A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

I gave up trying to count it up but the majority of you have listed at least a couple bands I like.

Also meant to mention earlier that Greg from The Oblivians has been rather involved with the Detroit Cobras a lot too. I know he's played on at least one of their albums and helped them write the only original song they've released. Not that I think you have to like every single band that guy is involved with, but you gotta admit, the man dips his hand in a whole lotta good shit.

I agree with all of these bands except for The Gruesomes, just because I don't think I am familiar with their shit and Jon Spencer because I think that guy is the biggest waste of talent on the planet. His bands all irritate the shit outta me because it's painfully obvious that he can play anything he wants to, but thinks it's cool to fuck it up in a way that everybody can tell is intentional. It just comes off as playing down to his audience which I find offensive and forced.

Oh, and personally, I much prefer Thee Mighty Caesars when it comes to Billy Childish projects.

I'll have to sample them again. I don't know why they came across as glammy, but that is the impression I get when I think of the stuff I have heard of theirs.

The Gruesomes are out of Canada I think. There stuff is hard to find I think they released alot of stuff around the same time period as the Mummies, late eighties, early nineties. Along the same lines as alot of the stuff we have agreed on already. Yeah Jon Spencer is actually one of my least favorite of the bands I had thrown out there, but I think they're ok. I also really dig alot of the newer stuff that Gearhead has been putting out, "Demons" being my favorite of those.

Yup, they're from Montreal. I've seen them a bunch of times. And I love me some Gordon Lightfoot. Andy, you might like Stan Rogers if you dig Gordon Lightfoot.

Well, its this place where nobody works, and the pigs don\'t give you any shit. Everyone smokes weed and gets drunk all day. Its a place where cunts like me and you can truly take it easy and relax. Know what I mean?
