Best way to clean your hard drive?
We are handing in an old lap top and want to make sure our info isn't on there. I know just deleting the info doesn't do it. Can anyone recommend
something for me? Ideally ranging from cheap to free?
Thanks!

A program called boot nuke has always worked for me. Sorry but I don't have a link.

There's an old thread lurking here somewhere with a bunch of links @active make
good software that wipes the drive thoroughly, anything that trashes the partition and re-writes all secotrs to 0, and does it with atleast 2 passes
should be safe. Depends how deep you want it done, what sort of stuff you had on it.
A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s
a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal
favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

little late on this sorry, but...
you want soemthing, like mike said, that not just deletes your data, but overwrites the entire contents of the disc.
If I fail math, there goes my chance at a good job and a happy life full of hard work.
