SON OF SAM (Todd Youth, Steve Zing, Samhain)

release date of Sept 16, 2008 for the long awaited sophomore release from Son Of Sam entitled Into The Night.

The release will be distributed by Caroline/EMI in N. America.

The band is currently in rehearsal and looking to set up tour dates for the Fall of 2008. This will make the first time the band has ever played live.

Son Of Sam, the beloved death rock band born from the iconic soul of Samhain and Danzig. Playing for the Samhain reunion inspired guitarist Todd Youth to write an album’s worth of Samhain influenced music.

The project was dubbed Son Of Sam, a nod to the fact the band was spawned from the Samhain tour. Fast forward 8 years, Todd Youth and fellow Samhain/Danzig member Steve Zing fueled the fire again with the long awaited follow up.

Into The Night, with it’s gritty & melodic darkness, will be strongly embraced by new recruits & fans who have waited in anticipation.

A picture of the album cover can be at the myspace page - www.myspace.com/officialsonofsam

The female model on the cover is the same model who appeared on the first release, Songs From Earth.

Track listing:

1. The Bleeding
2. Suffer
3. Dark Life
4. Into The Night
5. Twisted Soul
6. Death Baby
7. They Have Risen
8. Sons Of New
9. Darkness Calls (Pure Evil II)

I didn't like the old tracks because it was Davey Havoc singing. I haven't listened to the new stuff yet.

I thought that first release sucked.

I've never even heard of them before so I havent heard the stuff, but it sounded like something that I would have wanted to check out. Bummer that it sucks.

I thought it had potential, but drag queen Davey spoiled it. Maybe the new one will be good. I'm curious since in the past year or so I've really been getting back into Samhain and early Danzig stuff.

I never listened to anything because Davey Polesmoker was on vocals.

OK. NOw as I get older I am liking shit I knew I hated a while back. I hated this record when if fucking came out. I heard it at a local record store and the owner was all like "DUDE YOU'LL LIKE THIS" He palyed it and I immediately hated it and even jammed it out for a few songs before he changed it.

I ahve to say I jsut listened to the old songs off that record and I like 2 of them alot. The other 2 were not so good but 2 of them jammed. I am a fan of older AFI though. Anyway, I am going to check this new shit out.

I think it's pretty good, doesn't have the grittiness and meaner feel of Samhain, but it's a hell of a lot better than most of the new Horror bands out there now. The new singer sounds MUCH better than drag queen Davey too.
