Buying A Car in the States?
Anyone know someone who has done this?
Just wondering what kinda hassles there are involved....
Probably within the next 6 months i'll be hopefully, able to get a 'new' car, probably not brand new (but hopefully), but new to me anyways.
It's just a lot cheaper to buy in the U.S. than in Canada, New & Used cars.
For example:
08' VW Rabbit (which i love)
CDN base price - $19,975
U.S. base price - $15,600
thats a lot of $$ since our dollars are about the same now.
and in used the difference is around the same ballpark........
any thoughts and comment?

You've got to have your papers, ie. bill of sale, title, etc. to the border (American side) 72 hours before you cross, so basically you'de have to go
down buy the car, courier your papers to the border, hang out for 3 days, then cross back over. Alternatively, you could buy the car from here, have
them courier the papers to you, then courier the papers to the border and go down and get your car.
I take it the new job is going well?
Well, its this place where nobody works, and the pigs don\'t give you any shit. Everyone smokes weed and gets drunk all day. Its a place where
cunts like me and you can truly take it easy and relax. Know what I mean?

There are no problems with it at all. Just make sure that when all is said and done that it still makes sense to bring the car up. I bought a Lincoln
MKX for my girl and had it brought up from the USA. I ended up saving myself about $15 000.00. Needless to say it was worth it. I dealt with a private
leasing company, they found the car I wanted and took care of all the minor details.
